The anti spark worked great on 6s with the Max6 when I had one in a MTE, not sure what you mean about it being efficient? It there's little or no spark then it works fine

This. Next to no spark on 8s for me :)

What 1/10th? :P

Hmmm, it's a very tempting idea to just wait for it and finally dip my toe in the large scale BL scene.

I've been longing for it for what feels like forever!

Having being royally let down on the last chance that I was committed to buying... I know it's something I do want to do!

I'm right in thinking the Max6 doesn't recognise odd cell counts?

The lvc doesnt apparantly so youd need to turn it off and run lipo alarms. That said, wouldnt this need at least 8s to even move, 5/7s woulb be pretty slow no?

5s obviously isn't even a thought... I wondered about 7s.

There is a bloke on YouTube hitting 54mph on 8s with an 800kv can.

I'd estimate 7s to be around the 40 mark which is more than fast enough IMO.

For myself and my needs anyway.

Sending a proper big'un off a jump at that speed is plenty.

Not exact but what's a stock dibby gasser do?  I f it couldn't keep up with one it'd be a poor show imo.  Run times a given with bl, but i'd expect more smiles per mile with bl torque and top end.

Id be shocked if the stock DBXL is anyway close to the advertised 50mph this will do. Im guessing 30s for the stock gasser?

Just different options, I already have 3s packs, so I could buy some matching 4s packs and instantly have a pair of 7s :) that would be LiPos sorted.

I'm factoring everything in price wise.

Tbh, that's like asking, why do people run 26cc engines, when there's 78 ones around lol.

Personal preference/what makes sense to the individual :D

As in two chlinders? Mad!

You can already get twins as it is lol, OBR do a 50.8.

As for stockers, don't read anything into hp figures, they're all a lot of nothing.

For example, the G290 and G320 are 'rated' at the same hp with the same pipe but they act completely differently and the G290 is definitely faster.

Oh 7S would work. I've not run mine on 7S so can't say either way.  The real deciding factor i found with my DBXL conversion is run time. I think I'm up to 10 pairs of 4S now. That's about an hour and a half of fun, maybe more depending on the surface and how much full throttle you do. Investing in a good multi charger is recommended.

I think 100W per channel would be fine for 4s packs, I used to charge my 5000 4s packs on a single 80w charger lol, so I'm no stranger to it taking a while!

Yeah that's a deciding factor for me too, although I don't intend to hold it flat out across a field back and forward.

I'm more of a point and shoot kind of basher, for anything speed and drawn out, I just use the petrol, it's far far more effecient.

May I ask what packs you're using and the kinds of run times you're seeing on 8s?

Where did you read that? The manual for the G290 states 2.00kW @ 13000 RPM and the G320 2.40kW @ 13000 RPM

It's also all across the forums/retailers, they are rated at 3.5hp each, but the G320 has way more better end and not as many revs, so they're about the same flat out, although I favour revs and my personal G290 was faster flat out on a GPS than my G320 and I bought them both new, in the same Baja, same exhaust etc... It's not the fact the G320 puts out considerably more power, because it doesn't, it's really more about the delivery, it's more vicious.

I've got lots of Gens Ace 5800, 6750 and 7000 packs, a pair of the graphene 5000s and SMC 9000. I get anywhere between 10 and 20 minutes. It's a shame you can't get SMC packs imported any more as those really do what they say on the tin. I should have bought their 6700 extended while they were still importing :(

I was looking at the 6000 Graphenes, they keep popping up on sale so it makes the most sense financially to grab 4 or 6 of those when they come up again.

I'd imagine 3x 6000mAh would get me in the region of an hours run time, based on what I've seen people getting and how they're driving.

It's becoming a more and more viable idea.

That's true, although I don't have a 1/8th that will take single 4s packs lol... I suppose one could be bought from the proceeds of the DBXL sale if it didn't turn out to be what I wanted.

Having said that, there's a lot less risk and far far less financial loss if I buy a petrol one for £560 lol.
