Yoshimoto
I've managed to get hold of a Novak Mongoose Micro Pro combo.....its the mini Mongoose ESC and the 380 Micro b/l sensored motor.....it might be perfect in this [emoji16] can not wait to try it..... Jimplops
Now that sounds interesting, I'd been looking at brushless but sensorless, as leopard hobby do a 4 pole 2080kv that'd fit. What kv is that.
Yoshimoto
Not sure but 8.5 must be 4000kv+ at least.....not sure how that translates through this drivetrain though....I've got a feeling the stock motor isn't prrticularly slow anyhow. everclear1984
I finally joined the club with an Outback V2 It's used but VERY lightly, other than a small crack in the shell it could just about pass as new. It came with a Savox servo and HW 1060 esc, other than that it's box stock. Anything else worth doing before I hit the trail?
Jimplops
Use the shorter servo position, and set the end points so it doesn't stress the weak steering arms. May want to stick the battery over the front wheels as it'll help keep the nose down when climbing. Also if they're still on worth removing the c clips on the shocks to soften the suspension. everclear1984
Thanks for the advice. What size batteries is everyone running? I have some 1500mah 2s packs, would they be worth using? Also, is it best to stick with 2s or fit a higher turn motor and go 3s?
Jimplops
Fine on 2s, got 3200 and 5000 and get loads of run time. No other choice of motor unless you start modding with different skid plates and gearbox to fit 540size motors.
everclear1984
There seem to be plenty of options to run a proper sized motor so that wouldn't be an issue, but if it runs well on 2s I'll just stick to the stock motor for now. I can't wait to get out and give it a run tomorrow!
Jimplops
Tbh even though I've put ally axles and beadlocks on mine I still run the stock motor, and it'll still go where scx or trx4s go, the only time it'll struggle is on step ups that are virtually the same height as the wheelbase!
everclear1984
I christened the Outback today, and I'd forgotten how much fun crawling can be It's a great way to spend time with my little man outside of the house! everclear1984
First run out with the kids Outback today. All went well and I actually got to use mine for a while!
Bix
Awesome stuff, me and my son have just got into crawlers and they are briliant. Completely different to bashing and much more relaxing ?? Perfect for a nice long walk down the woods. Actually beginning to think I missed a trick not getting the boy one of these though, ended up getting him a SCX10ii like me which is great but cost a fair bit more and for his usage I reckon one of these would have fit the bill with plenty of change ? Nevermind ? Edited January 8, 2019 by Bix
Shoestring_Basher
I've had my outback for a few years now and I love it ? it's such a nice thing to work on and to drive. I've made a video of it at broadwater Warren in East Sussex, feel free to subscribe to my channel if you want ?
