Massive Tamiya / Traxxas / Parts Sale

Hi all,

I'm afraid I just joined the forum to advertise a hobby which I have become bored of... so apologies!

I got an immense amount of pleasure from building all of the cars below, but they have all sat in a display cabinet since being built and have never been run since they were set up.

A complete waste of time and money I'm sure many will say (and I'd agree to be honest being brutal about it), but it kept me quiet over many a winters day and I got the enjoyment out of building them rather than any great desire to run or race them.

As the entire hobby has sat in the man room, it's time to have a de-clutter.  Rather than put them on ebay, I'd rather they go on a specialist forum and someone get some enjoyment out of using them, hence my joining.

So, what is there?

All prices are excluding P&P - this will be at your cost.  I'm not looking to make anything on P&P, but it'll only be sent by special or recorded delivery or some other signed for service *unless you collect in person and pay cash*

I'm happy to bundle together multiple items into one box to save on P&P charges

If someone fancies driving to Aberdeen (post code area AB41) to collect the whole lot in person, there is a deal to be done ;-)

There are quite a few other odds and sods - various tamiya paints, masks, a whole raft of spare screws and other general modelling spares, heat shrink, deans connectors, servo arms etc etc.
These cars are all built with a lot of attention to detail, I really took my time on these.  They’re all like new as they’ve sat in a display cabinet since being built.
They’re all built with really good quality components and many with hop-ups - they were not built cheaply.

Prices - I’ll entertain sensible realistic offers - we all know (or can work out) how much is in each build.  If someone wants everything as a job lot, I’ll consider it for the right price.  I do not want to break the cars apart for bits, so whilst I’ll sell cars individually it’ll be in the condition that they are now.

I live just outside Aberdeen, (post code area AB41) but if someone wants to collect in person and deal face to face, that is infinitely preferable to postage.

If you are interested, please send me a PM and we can take it from there.

That's quite a collection!  I'm interested in a couple of the Tamiyas.

One of the strictly enforced rules is prices need to be on your sales thread.

other than that, please confirm if you'll offer a lower price for multiple purchases?

Hi, as per the FS section rules please add prices to items in your post.

Thanks

Sorry - hadn't noticed that when I read the rules.  Will update during the day today (and reply to the PM's as soon as I get a few minutes)

Yes - happy to do a deal if someone wants multiple items or indeed to take the lot.  In fact, that is preferable to me.

I was interested in a couple, as I suggested this morning.  Unfortunately and very disappointingly, I think the majority of your prices are at least twice what I'd be prepared to pay...  Good luck with selling them!

Comment noted - as you can probably tell I'm not really into the scene, I just enjoyed building them.  That makes them hard to value for me - I know what I paid for them - the figures have broadly come from looking at completed sales on ebay.  I'll say it here for everyone's benefit - I'd rather see them go to someone who will appreciate / look after / use them than sit on the shelf with me, so whilst I'm not going to give stuff away, I'm open to sensible offers if you feel I'm way off the ballpark on some items.  I'm a realistic kind of guy.

Duly noted in return. :). They are gorgeous cars (credit to you) and if you ever do halve your prices, please PM me again...

Ouch, most of your kit is cheaper from a retailer. Same as above really, I'm interested in a fair few bits but not at those prices!

It's nice to be important but it's more important to be nice! [emoji317]

To clear up any confusion, these prices can be classed as a starter for ten. I am open to sensible offers on all of it. The prices quoted might well be high in retrospect, but not being close to the scene I have found it hard to put a value on things - hence putting no prices at all to start off with.

If anyone is genuinely interested in anything, just make me a sensible offer.

If you now view them as 'high in retrospect' why not reduce them to a more sensible number so the interested parties, myself included, can make an offer without there being such a crazy gap to start with.
