  1. Let’s just say I don’t check this forum very often these days…..
  2. Los is dead in the quad world unless your doing photography.
  3. Bump. Still hunting for 40mhz gear!
  4. Best case would a jr module and some rx’s but tbh given how hard it seems to be to find anything I’m at the point where I will take what I can get and break out the soldering iron
  5. No rush submarine will take me a while to build
  6. Hey guys… im looking for 40mhz radio gear. Ideally more than 4 channels. If it will accept pwm inputs but the controller is a bit dodgy that’s fine. im trying to build a 40mhz jr module for my tx16s for submarine usage! what have you got lurking in the old parts bin!
  7. As mentioned in previous posts the very best thing you can do before buying a quad is to just get a controller and spend time in a sim. Fpv can be really unforgiving of mistakes and as someone who learned when there were no sims it was expensive as hell….
  8. Just go look at any of the fpv groups grass roots no one uses it. It’s got terrible parts support and is hugely expensive for consumables. You can’t get spares for it. inthink Joshua bardwell Sums it up well in his video im a huge fan of the digital video system but the quad itself is just not worth the money at all
  9. @Nick if you get the Dji fpv drone please post lots of pictures of the broken pile of plastic you have after your first flight… honesly mate it’s the wrong call!
  10. If your looking for the Dji fpv drone there’s one on drone junkyard atm for around £700 with 3 batteries…. iv seen the Dji fpv drone combo for as low as 600 I would suggest if you haven’t done so already to go grab a controller (betafpv do one for £30) and have a go In a sim. velocidrone or liftoff are the “go to” or if your on a lower spec machine the curry kitten fpv sim is a good starting point
  11. On the Dji fpv… the Dji fpv drone is utter garbage! Way to fragile and massively over priced! iv been using Dji hd system since release and have found it to be very good and I would have recommended it up until last week! my current recommendation is sharkbyte/hdzero I will be migrating to this in the near future as it plays a lot nicer with everyone else than Dji does.
  12. Hey. Iv been flying fpv since 2014 quadcopters.co.uk has closed down. unmannedtech and hobbyrc are great tho stock is an issue. if your looking to dip your toe than the tinyhawk rtf kit is a good bet and well under 250g so no it’s a “toy” If you want to go down the rabbit hole in a big way drop me a pm and I can help put you in touch with people who can help locally
  13. Hey folks. It’s been a while since I last posted (read many many years) I wonder if any of the old guard is still around? anyway I’m thinking of getting a car again (not had one since 2016) but… what I want is a lotus exige my googlefu is failing me and I’m finding nothing hobby grade) anyone know of anything cheers
  14. fatshark hdo goggles with truedX module. Furious fpv smart cable v2, tattu 2500mah 2s goggle battery. Lhcp patch and pagoda. 3D printed lense protector. All in its case and original box £300 Ono
  15. Toolkit stuff while on paper looks good I have heard many many reports of them catching fire. I would steer well clear. take a look at idst.. I run isdt chargers now (8 of them to be exact) and they have been faultless
  16. hey guys, on tonights stream i will be talking with Zoefpv https://youtu.be/GaGvVCp4ZgE 20:00 hope you can join us
  17. Always up for some exposure lol I run a fortnightly live stream talking all things flying but mostly quads https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCnEhs2xqtY8R87pp8WEE-KA
  18. Hi mate. i could be interested in one of the tbs disco’s have you got any pics? And specs?
  19. Hi mate. can you post a video showing the issue? Is the left stick “sprung” in the verticals axis? You can change the channel mapping in the receiver tab in betaflight... just type in the order eg tear123 aetr123 etar123 etc
  20. A suitable quad can fly for a few miles or more. Tho in most places flying beyond visual line of sight is against the law.
  21. Hey dude. tinyhawk is a brilliant bit of kit.... if your seeing things like arming times and battery voltage then the osd and vtx are both working.... assuming that the osd is showing on a black background then either the camera is getting no power or the connection from the camera to the flight controller is broken. time to open it up and check the connections
  22. most current cams are ccd not many old school cmos cams left. radio wise forget the frsky stuff it’s all but been put out to pasture by the jumper t16pro £130 binds to almost anything (Frsky eu and international, spectrum, futaba nearly anything else) best advice for anyone starting out regardless of what you want to do longer term is get a controller and spend some time in the simulator it will save you hundreds of pounds on broken parts. Fpv quads are tricky to fly and even harder to fly well. I heartily recommend watching some stuff by Joshua bardwell and Painless360 as they will teach you loads.
  23. Not many physical stores anywhere really. unmannedtech is brilliant hobbyrc are brilliant airjacker are good droneislife is pretty good good luck
  24. Just to chime in here.... the only goggles that will work with ANY dji drone and a race drone are the dji Race edition goggles. The new dji hd fpv goggles do not work with the mavic or anything other than the air unit. the best advice possible for anyone starting out with race drones is a controller and a sim. as has already been said flying a race quad and a dji quad is chalk and cheese. If you expect otherwise your in for a very expensive learning curve. additionally to what I just said unmannedtech do a few bundles That might be of interest (and I like banggood you get proper support)
