My son's (ahem!) Tamiya Heavy Dump Truck. Has LEDs all round including an amber spinner/flasher. Just bearings upgraded. Runs on 2s lipo (for ages), Hobbywing ESC with standard silver can motor. Not many of these about as far as I know either.

It's held on by four clips. If you take the front ones off you can tip it back and there are hinged upstands that can be put in place to hold it. I was tempted to add actuators but as it's something my 3 year old uses I thought it wasn't worth the effort/expense. I've seen a YouTube vid where someone has done this.

Yep. Also, though it wheelies it doesn't go crazy. Could do with thickening up the diff grease as it can get in trouble if it lifts a wheel or two on the bumps. I'd like a Wild Willy body on this chassis. Always loved that body style but the crazy wheelie action wasn't my bag.

My F103 15th Anniversary Edition, with radio gear installed, able to move under its own power at last.

F103 anniversary edition chassis

F103 anniversary edition chassis 2

Motor is a Johnson 540J hardwired to a Tamiya TEU-105BK ESC, RX is a compact Spektrum SR210 and the steering servo is a Savox SG-0351.

It is likely to remain shell-less for a couple of months at least, while I devote my hobby budget to getting my F104V2 Pro to the same level of completeness. It makes a great display piece in the interim though, with all the shiny carbon, blue alloy and limited edition Anniversary pieces visible.

Fantastic.

So good, you start noticing things - sorry.

Headlamps look not quite right.

On my escort? No need for sorry if so, id rather honest feedback on it i want it as a sort of shelfer so in what way do they not look quite right?

It's the moulding - flat with roundals - no 3D effect - lens and retaining ring that there would be on the real thing.

Found this:

Centre of the headlamp is level with the grille and the outer edges are recessed if anything.

It's pretty damned close, just missing that 'something'.

It's almost like everything else is spot on, but the headlamps are flat or even concave instead of convex - if there were a way of putting a lightly dished moulding under the headlamp decals ...

Anyway, just an idea. Take care not to ruin a nice build. Looks great.

That Escort is amazing, brilliant build :good:

For the headlights, I don't know how they measure up (and I know that grafting things into lexan is a mission) but couldn't you use something like this?

Would need careful research and measuring but sure it will be possible. May also be something on Shapeways, it's a mine of scale detail parts these days :)

The light moulds are hard plastic, i think if those you linked are the right size i could fit them and paint em white or something
