  1. Holy thread resurrection! Sorry. I don't suppose anyone has a spare idler gear ax31227 and/or gearbox casing ax31000 in UK? My XL is a dead duck without these. Looks like I can get a Robinson Racing idler from US but thought I would check here first. Thanks
  2. Sorry only got the .STL file. Presume you can create the cad from that? Attached here. rc_spare.stl
  3. I'll see if I can dig it out. I ended up not re-printing the part. Instead I found that the chassis already has unused mounts so I attached the links to those and moved the rear shocks to the back of the A-arms to avoid rubbing the links. Works just fine for bashing and is holding up great. Probably it puts the camber off a bit but it's cheaper than a new part.
  4. Thought I'd post my latest video here. The XL is still going strong. Managed to break a rear lower link on this drop off and pierced a tyre bizarrely. Enjoy.
  5. Well I had no luck so got a friend to CAD it and 3D print it. It was a great fit but the choice of print material wasn't good enough. It only lasted until the first rollover. I may get it reprinted in something stronger or look at alternative mounts. Happy to share the STL file if anyone else needs it.
  6. You never want any cell to go below about 3.3v so 6.6v for your 2cell lipo. But storage charge should be higher at about 3.9 per cell or 7.8 v total. For running make sure your ESC is set for lipo so has a low voltage cut off. If you don't have that then get a low voltage buzzer that connects to the balance plug. These are very cheap.
  7. Yes to storage capacity but not empty as that's bad for lipos. You may need to declare them so best to look at restrictions on luggage/shipping advice.
  8. Ideally store in a metal box. If storing for months then don't store them fully charged. Most chargers will have a storage charge facility that will take charged lipos down to a reasonable charge for storage. Don't charge them unattended either. But also don't worry too much. I've been using lipos for years.
  9. Thanks but I think I'm good - lots of other vehicles to pillage from.
  10. Nope defo actually cogging/hesitation with multiple pinions on the correct mount settings. Might try a different motor from another RC before I buy another just in case it's something else like the ESC.
  11. Thanks. I've already built it with bearings (Ordered before Santa left the kit under the tree ?). I've wired up an old brushless motor though I'm getting bad cogging so may replace with something more suitable.
  12. Thanks. Wish I'd bought those instead of the set without springs as it seems hard to just buy 4 medium springs now without paying silly money. Do the 53631 TRF short springs fit the mini CVA's? They can be bought as a pair. Otherwise i need to buy a set of 4 pairs of tuned springs but they only come with a pair of each type.
  13. Hi All, I got a TT-02 Lancia Delta for Christmas from my wife to add to the collection. I've got the CVA mini shocks installed but find the stock silver springs way too hard and actually too short (after adding extra droop/ride height). What's the best option for softer springs? Most of the Tamiya ones say on road (53163) but I don't know how they compare to the stock springs. Can anyone help? Thanks
  14. Has anyone got a rear camber mount for the Glamis Uno they don't need or know where I can get one, plastic or alloy? My plastic one broke the other day after reviving the old girl and I can't source one online. Not much use without it. I guess I could try to make my own but not ideal. Thanks
  15. Hi, Sorry for dragging up an old thread but has anyone got a rear camber mount they don't need or know where I can get one, plastic or alloy? My plastic one broke the other day after reviving the old girl. Not much use without it. I guess I could try to make my own but not ideal. Thanks
  16. Hi all. Been a while since I added to this thread but sadly my brother has decided to sell his XL as he wasn't using it enough partly due to it's size. Anyway I've listed it on eBay auction at the mo unless anyone wants to make me an offer. Read the ad for full spec Hope it's ok to post a link. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F332816916866 Feel free to ask questions. Tim
  17. Ok I do feel a bit silly . It was just the motor. A quick clean under running water and a lube and it's just fine. I'll stick with it for now as it's not about performance. I'm used to brushless systems nowadays so didn't think it was as simple as that. Thanks for the tips all.
  18. Thanks. I'll check. I'll feel a bit silly if that's all it is. Not easy getting the gearbox apart seeing as the whole truck is the gearbox!
  19. Hi peeps, I've had the GF-01 for a couple of years and don't run it that much so is hardly even broken in. However last time out after running for 10 minutes or so it started slipping and squealing under power. I assumed it was a loose pinion but it is not that. I've now taken the gearbox apart and can't see a problem inside either. All of the many gears turn freely and I don't see any broken teeth etc. Any ideas? Thanks.
  20. Yep. Also, though it wheelies it doesn't go crazy. Could do with thickening up the diff grease as it can get in trouble if it lifts a wheel or two on the bumps. I'd like a Wild Willy body on this chassis. Always loved that body style but the crazy wheelie action wasn't my bag.

  22. It's held on by four clips. If you take the front ones off you can tip it back and there are hinged upstands that can be put in place to hold it. I was tempted to add actuators but as it's something my 3 year old uses I thought it wasn't worth the effort/expense. I've seen a YouTube vid where someone has done this.
  23. My son's (ahem!) Tamiya Heavy Dump Truck. Has LEDs all round including an amber spinner/flasher. Just bearings upgraded. Runs on 2s lipo (for ages), Hobbywing ESC with standard silver can motor. Not many of these about as far as I know either.
  24. Hi All, Just thought I'd update the thread with our experiences with the GT24MT. Love it! It's been a blast so far and my just-turned 3 year old boy loves it and is able to control it pretty well even through it's quite fast out of the box on 1S. We did add extra thickness to the throttle limiter and the one that comes with it has a tendency to fall off so I'll be making something more robust soon. I'm amazed that it's taken such a beating, bouncing off furniture in the house and taking a bit of mud and ice outdoors. Might have dropped a tooth somewhere in the transmission but apart from sounding a bit rougher it's fine. I'll delve into it soon. I can thoroughly recommend this little truck if anyone is on the verge.
