Delboy71
A sim helps a lot but it just doesnt beat hands on flying, for trying new moves i just give myself plenty of height to allow for recovery time.
CyclingSalmon14
Yhea just practice really and it helps if you have a Touter or go to a club, also it helps to have a heap full of naturel talent and be a quick learner....don't worry most rc helicopter poilets will never learn to fly that well... CyclingSalmon14
Think my terminology was not correct there, basicly was saying I cannot be shamed for refering a legdend. But I was being sarcastic anyways lol.

Joe Bailey
"yeah flew with del on phoenix man this chap can bust a move." lol i have bust a few choppers in the process too so thank god for phoenix!!! nothing rc related this xmas for me but looking to get a new heli in the spring maybe a SAB goblin or the raptor G4 not decided yet. Im slightly going towards the G4 fitted with the ys 120sr engine. no denying the electric helis have great power output put i just love the noise and smell of the nitro birds. here is the g4 in action being flown by the awsome nick maxwell. The G4 is awesome, just watching that vid makes me want to go fly mine now but it's dark and i got no led's for it (YET) Got mine as my 50's were getting blown around to much in grass roots last year the g4 is like a rock in the wind and with the head wound back to 1400rpm it really suits my super smooth style and the 10 min flight times are great for practice. G4 all the way, forget the goblin.

CyclingSalmon14
My Fleet ( One and only member lol ) It was flying this afternnon and my skills have come alonge better than I though and it was so much fun being able to fly it a bit and hover and fly a bit further then stop and hover rather than fighting just to hover in on orintaion yay!!! Below are the photos of it: Then my tail got hit by and RPG and we had a classic BLACK HAWK DOWN movie reinactment!!! Heres what happend: I was getting MASSIVE TAIL VIBES so carrey on flying anyways as i knew it was being cuased by a split tail boom, almost dead motor and a bent tail rotor...more fool me! I hit the house and it recovered so i carryed on hovering in the middle of the garden and just as i settled into a hover...the TAIL SNAPPED!! OMG IT WAS LIKE BLACK HAWK DOWN....( The movie not black ops! ) had no rudder and had to bring it in whilst it was spinning mad with a tail boom hanging vertical off it... landed and the up shot is the boom, tail moto holder, motor and tail blades are shot! And the afterMath:
Tamiyacowboy
get the microheli mcpx carbon frame. get the upgraded tailboom ( 3 mm i think ) save pennys and then do this: microheli metal cnc swashplate microheli/rakon alloy blade grips These two parts i would try get with the frame, these parts are really needed. they will improve stability and handling no end , get a swashplate level tool to. Its not for bling but more to beef up where the plastic give up. then later on once your alot better pilot we can advise on the hk05 and the hko3 main/tail brushless mod and the steveconverter and the micro 3amp escs. CyclingSalmon14
Already got swssh plate tool as having a unlevle swash was night mere lol...was thinking of when I got the money a CNC swash and blade grips but the frames are cheap and I wanted to keep it ,mainly stocker as I am...sorry was saving for a

Carlton
Did you get this mate if so I'd love to have a look at it I was considering getting one myself.. There is no me in team.. i do have it but quality is poor and am currently talking with HK customer support about it. The motor came out the mountings just checking the electrics xmas day, most likely just needed thread lock on grub screws but the cowl comes glued on so you cant access them. I got the geebee r3 just before Xmas but haven't built it yet, I've had my quad up in the air once so far but it was way too windy on the day and it was all I could do to keep it in a hover.. Hope you get sorted mate, I'm off work right now so I may be able to pop over Thursday with the big quad weather permitting? There is no me in team.. Dear Carlton , Thanks for contacting the HobbyKing Support Team. Please try to wiggle the engine cowl off. Thanks for emailing support. If you have any other questions, please let me know. Best Regards. Ian HobbyKing Product Specialist I have pointed out again it is glued and seems brittle and asked if they will replace it if it breaks, but since they dont sell spares i boubt it. lol is a shame cos i was looking forward to flying it. You can still pop round and have a look at it if you want to cos they are still cheap for a plane supplied with motor, esc and servos. CyclingSalmon14
Bummer... lets us know how it goes mate, looks good but that Customer surport is shocking lol...Then again you cant expect much in the way of service from hobbyking, TBH I treat is as a good site for lipos and stuff like chargers and battery and other consumables and small things, but dont think much about buyting say a helicopter ect from there unless its a chepo disposable fun one.But thes just IMO! But thes just IMO! Im not really sure what it is i want em to do to rectify it tbh i could have just sent it back for refund but then i wouldnt have the plane just seeing what they have to say about it. Was going to cut a hole in it to get the battery further forward to get the right cog and knew i would have to do that before i bought it. It used to have a removable cowl so i was expecting to take that off and put some thread lock on the grub screws too, but with it glued on there is no access to them without a lot of messing and dismantling. All i did was put the prop on and power the thing up to half throttle and the motor came loose. That being said if you knew about these short comings before hand it would still make a cheap trainer plane at just over Edited January 6, 2013 by Carlton
CyclingSalmon14
well I guess at that price its ok, it will all come down to how it flys...
Joe Bailey
Run a piece of shim steel around the cowl gently and you can release the glue or at least cut the foam just behind it allowing you remove the cowl.
Carlton
Run a piece of shim steel around the cowl gently and you can release the glue or at least cut the foam just behind it allowing you remove the cowl. yay got it off in one piece the latest response from hobbyking "can you make use of it or are you sending it back" i will make use of it, think if i had expected it to come like this i would still have gone for it, its just such a cheap price. Having got the cowl off i will be reinforcing the motor mount, they have cut a bit off for the brushless motor to fit right where one of the 3 supports ends and as its plastic it looks very weak. couple strips of plastic glued either side will help. Since i know i need to get the cog forward the extra weigth will actually help. now to make right what they didnt including gluing the 2 halves of the fuselage together properly lol
