FTX Vantage/Carnage owners Thread

No idea.

Likely to be double.

But my son is now faster than me with the Rustler.

Initially, in front of the house he pressed full throttle.

Car flipped backwards and his new shell cracked.

Went emotional and he lost the mood for a moment.

Then he was very carefully with the speed.

2 hours later, he couldn't get enough speed on the sports field.

He enjoyed mid-speed wheelies, followed by front wheelies and some side wheelies.

Sweet!

They don't tell you the inner diameter for the shaft.

Watch out for that.

Corally has 5mm (1/8) or 3.17mm (1/10).

Above one doesn't say which.

One more thing to bear in mind.

With larger pinion and higher speed, there will be a bit more stress on the drive train.

And motor/ESC get hotter.

And you might end up with cogging when starting.

But then you always have a fall back option. 🙂

Cheers!

Iain thanks for the bumpers. Another modelsport order made including wheel for the rear!

Bought some scrim today for hardening up the shell but what glue did you guys use and is there ever an issue of it getting hot and melting etc.? I have a few mastic gun tubes of sticks like **** was going to use it to layer the scrim down.

May also try and stick the present damaged one in as well which would double the thickness. Pity there isnt just a really really tough one available. This is the third shell and they all rip around the mounting posts so I think I will spend some extra time strengthing that area.

I feel your pain. Got my money back from the goolrc though. That wasn't the hobbywing motor in the carnage was it?

your going through motors like the clappers, something might be up, when you have the car apart check nothing is binding.
also are you getting the beep boop, did you test the motor in the other car?
glad you got your money back on the goolrc, doesnt seem to happen often sadly.

Hi no its was the original motor from 2 1/2 years old car.  .

No that was st things I checked .

The outlaw was bought in jan this year so I think that there was somthing wrong with it  for it to burn out so soon   I think .

As for the carnage it's over 2 years old and its the original motor   so I guess it was time .

But the two was both different  one went very slow and died  one went fast and died instantly.

I just got azibux1 old outlaw  motor left to change  lol

farewell motor, you had a short but fun life, theres nothing wrong with your outlaw they eat motors due to poor design, ergo be careful what you choose to put into it, invest well and wisely and you will be very happy for a long time... cough hobbywing 😉

Well I'm sweet talking the mrs into letting  me buy  the blue brusless set up that was posted on here .as iv really looked an I'm stumped on what type   (in my budget at the.moment )  I will eventually get the hobby jobby one  but not today . .

Its gorgeous out side and my health probs flared up so I'm bit cheesed off .as all cars are ready to roll  so I'm upping.my morphine so hopefully kill the pain in a bit so we can  go out for a wee bash .

I have gone with the advice from folks over here and bought local.  Still eBay though but returns and refunds are something I am willing to pay a little extra for.

@Iain .R, if you get stuck, I have a link to a brushless setup on eBay, which I previously posted in this thread.  Setup was easy (well apart from putting the motor on when stubbornly wanting to keep the front wheel on) and apart from the reverse being forward, it works like a dream.  The setup has survived snow bashing, rain, cleaning in the bath....

Power is stupid, if I turn, the car flips over, tyres seem to no longer be able to grip, suspension needs firming up...

It's just like big cars, as soon as you hike the power, you need to think about upgrading all other components
