Popular Post JonnyUK
I fit/attempted to fit these drive shafts onto the front of the Hpi WR8. Left the rears stock seen as I'm having no issues with those. Meant to be a direct fit but are the non-branded parts ever... The oem hex pins were too large for the holes in the stub axle, odd size so I didn't have a 1.7mm ish drill bit (if one exists). So instead I enlarged the holes slightly to 2mm and fit some Traxxas 2mm pins instead which I had as spares for the trx4. To keep things simpler I also fit the 2mm pins in the rear oem stub axles also. Difficult to drill due to the hardened steel but it's done. Stormbringer
Watch buying cheap hellis mate i would advise Blade or Align T Rex or another well known brand as you will need spares and are usually more robust when crashed

Popular Post JonnyUK
A quick little project today. It's a surprise for my lads birthday in about 2 months, bought months ago from Jadlam. Used up some voucher points I had accumulated so got £25 off this FTX Vantage. I'm not fussed about buggys really because I owned a few when I was younger so lost interest, but when he sees a buggy he always says he likes them. Swapped out the chassis for a new 2nd hand alloy one and carbon top brace because they are too bendy stock, could even disengage the pinion and spur just by twisting each end hard. Carbon fibre strut towers added also. Now it's solid and next to no flex. Checked and greased the diffs etc and added a couple of other shiny parts as they were cheap, feels/looks like a completely different buggy now. Shocks feel nice stock, big bores I think but plastic casings, they'll probably last years though. A quick check of the electrics tomorrow before boxing it back up and hiding it away in the loft again.

H1q
Decided to read up on Machine Learning/Algos, but then started seeing Baja plastic spur gears…it must be a sign that I should get back to tinkering with my RC cars instead. 😂 1 2
Popular Post oodboo
Fitted a top deck and some other bling ready for racing on Wednesday. The TA08pro is a very flexible chassis and under hard acceleration (with plenty grip) it made a click noise. Now it doesn't. The flexible chassis is supposed to work well on low grip surfaces like where I race but I don't think I'll notice any difference.
