  2. If the exhaust is blocked then some of the atomised air/fuel mixture will be forced out the carb due to the crank creating positive pressure as the exhaust port is blocked.
  3. Plugging the exhaust to get fuel through the lines. No not brand new. Not trying to start it here just showing you the fact that it's spitting fuel from the filter, otherwise you can't see it. My other nitros don't do this
  4. Today
  5. Why are you trying to start it without the air filter on?
  6. What is hold down the exhaust mean? Is this brand new?
  7. Hey all, Just got this tmaxx and the carb is spitting when I hold down the exhaust and turn it over. Here is a video: Im pretty sure it's not supposed to do this. Is the carb ****ed or something else? Thanks.
  8. Is this basically 1/10th touring sized?
  9. This build is coming along nicely and have a working prototype with good level of control and response from motor and steering. All crammed into a PLA printed 1/32 chassis with printed steering gear, wheels and drive gears. Couple of things need improving, the motor works well with a good graduation from stop to slow and to full speed - the top end is a little lacking and would like at least a little wheel spin! The steering works well but just need to tweak it with a bit more lock. All in all, good progress. I'll have to calculate the cost of the radio gear but reckon its close to £20 excluding the transmitter.
  10. I knew these parts were available but its 1st 1 ive saw with the glow in dark parts on it
  11. I have been collecting up a set of parts to let me put together a new helicopter to round out my collection of small Eflite helis. I had an mCX, the s300mCX, the tandem twin mCX, but there was one last thing I needed to add to round out the set. I had one white body set, which I have used here as it seemed to fit better. Looks tidy enough, but it can look better.... when you turn the lights out 🙂 frame, landing skids, swashplate, tail and upper and lower blades all in 'glow in the dark' plastic.
  12. Stripped and cleaned the front arms and uprights and made a list of stainless steel fittings to reassemble the front end with. Also had the front shocks apart and refilled them with heavier oil so probably wont add stiffer springs. Was going to pull the front diff apart but not feeling the love to get covered in gooey oil right this minute 😁
  13. Ah, same motor as mine. Max4 is awesome. What pinion? I'm currently using the Losi mount, paid over 200 notes for the full conversion kit, just to use the motor mount. Bonkers! Definitely cheaper options available. Best get back on topic.
  14. For now gonna just order the brown f-150 and a set of metal links plus crawler gear set, then see how it goes in future, also wanting a hobby plus T hunter kit and some nice upgrades, maybe i can just do both
  15. If your willing to search eBay and prepared to wait for delivery, that price can be reduced, plus the Traxxas stuff you will replace will still have value to sell on helping to fund it further. yes Traxxas upgrades are a bit ridiculous price wise but you will always find a plethora of third party companies making stuff, might not have the fit and finish but does that really matter??? Will still do the job whilst looking the part. look at the Carisma Sca1e upgrades, they make Traxxas look reasonable….. anyhow, ooops, my finger slipped, honest
  16. Just as well if you wanted one in blue
  17. Yeah ZTW - been not right last couple of runs. Only quite actions of getting the shell off to disconnect the batteries when its started smoking. but did put out some nice flames. Its a Leopard 380kv - was thinking of getting a Max4 next but the kershaw motor mount is crap and the motor keeps moving. The DBXL-E has been scratching my itch, so might give the 5ive a rest for now as it become a money pit.
  18. Found a much nicer battery tray I will probably need to drill 2 new holes in the side plates, the TLR version has the stock mount holes drilled lower, but I’ll make it work 👍
  19. Not good, but not catastrophic. What motor? I run a Max4 with a 380kv can, no heat issues. Don't give up!
  20. OUCH !! Pricing up hop ups, or should i say possibly needed upgrades this project is really getting expensive for a 1/18th........metal underdrive transmission gears, metal axle ring and pinion set and a set of metal links to add a little low weight plus maybe an Injora 180 motor with the hi trail F-150 we are at about £252 then i would like a light kit. kinda feel im pricing this up and getting reluctant to lob this kind of money into this project.........if i am gonna go ahead might have to drop the motor and metal links from the list
  21. Go for it, that looks like a good handset and I’m sure there’ll be loads of photos around as it’s almost a guaranteed hit👍
  22. Yesterday
  23. If that is a ZTW ESC I believe they are somewhat prone to catching fire
  24. If no one objects. I'm gonna trim the photos down in my previous post. Otherwise i'm gonna use up all my storage allowance 😛
  25. They are, and will suit the Jeep body really well…I hope 🤞
  26. Have a small fire in the Brushless 5ive - Think its time to retire this project. and broke the X-Maxx
