Hi folks... It's been a while since I've visited the site but I thought I'd check in as I'm looking to get back into RC after some time away from the hobby and I need some advice. I have an Arrma Typhon (v4) and I'm not getting any response from the esc with freshly charged batteries. Absolutely, nothing... No fan, no lights, no beeps... Nowt. I've removed the esc (BLX 185 version) and the casing and after taking a close look... it looks to me like it's possibly smoulered a little around the capacitors... See Image below. As I'm still very much an RC noob I wondered if I get I could get some advice on whether it's cooked and needs replacing? I also wondered whether people are aware of issues with this particular ESC and if a replacement is needed, would it be worthwhile replacing this with another? Possibly the newer Spectrum Firma version which comes as stock on the V5? Or if anyone is aware of a different ESC that will drop into my V4 Typhon without any modifications then please let me know. My Typhon is completely stock. Any help or advice will be greatly appreciated. Thank you and have a nice day.

I have soon had my traxxas bandi for a week. already falling apart. Might be my fault but i dont think im abusing it that much. All ive done is driving back and forth on the road and sliding around in gravel. I have also done some jumps on my homemade little ramp but only on the grass. Tires have gone slick (prob my fault), The steering doesnt return to the center once having turned and the back tires are wabbling alot so we have gotten new parts for the back. But when it comes to the steering, i have no idea what do to. I want to know what different solutions there are to fixing this problem. And if it is the servo i dont actually mind since the 2056 isnt that good compared to other things on the market. I think this is normal but the tires are always a little bit wobbly. Dont know if i came to the right section of the forum so please tell me if im at the wrong place. Im very new to the rc hobby and already having some issues but i really hope i can get some help :) minihanden

Hey all, I'm wanting to get into RC and I've bought my first RC Truck second-hand off of a friend. Now I just need to buy a decent charger. I want to charge 2S 5200mAh batteries but I'm not sure which charger to pick as I'm on a bit of a budget. I'm wondering if this IMAX clone will be any good? It looks like it has all of the proper connectors and that it'd be good to use (from reviews I've found), but I thought I'd double check first. Thanks! Hi, apologies if this isn’t the right place to post questions. I have a Ripmax Husky which runs great. Very fast and responsive. However after about 5 minutes it stops working properly, and will only move an inch forward before emitting three beeps. I assumed this meant the battery was flat - but if you pick up the car, pressing the throttle makes the wheels spin as though it still has full power. I’ve tried re-pairing the controller but this doesn’t make any difference. My battery is only 1300mAh, which is less powerful than others. Also the “straw” holding the antenna broke ages ago, but this doesn’t seem to affect performance. Thanks in advance for any advice.

As I've put in my bio, I know nothing to do with rc but I know I want to take it up as a hobby. I have replaced a broken castor block on my ion mt but have since seen various issues that have occurred since then. I'll be in this forum quite regularly with questions about stupidly simple stuff to most of you guys but tricky stuff for me. So I hope you can be patient with me as I struggle to break into the world of rc but nevertheless, I am coming into it full force! So, I have owned the ion mt and dt for a bit now and they both work fine apart from this buzzing noise I keep hearing from both when I turn them on (video attached) and with the dt, it wont work altogether unless I tap the wires then it somehow kicks into to gear. For a few seconds anyway. With the mt, yesterday whilst using it, it just stopped going forwards altogether but would still go backwards. And now today after using it, it somehow is going both ways. I know I've mentioned a fair few things here but if anyone can help it would be hugely appreciated! 20201228_091631.mp4

Hi all I'm looking for some advise on my 1st hobby grade rc car. I'm looking for something cheap (around the £60 mark) and something that can do a bit of everything, bashing, on road, off road, small obstacles and probably a lot of crashing. I have a image in my head of me and my 2 year daughter making jumps and courses in the back garden which will hopefully come true. I seen lots of reviews on the 12428 which looks perfect for what I want but I've also seen that there's a 12429 at the same price, does anyone know how they compare? Does anybody have any other suggestions? Also worth pointing out that I'm looking forward to upgrading the truck overtime so I'm OK with the shocks needing to be upgraded out of the box and then additional things in the future Thanks in advance for your help.

Recently dug out my old ff02 chassis (no shell) wanting to rebuild. So dug out manual, stripped down section by section. Cleaned all parts thoroughly. Rebuilt as per instructions. Now j have no traction and no real pulling power. Everything is where it should be. I no this ran fine 2-3 years ago as I did a charity race track with some friends. Anyone got any thoughts?

I have a hobao hyper vs nitro .30 it came with a COPS pullstart system which has broken any ideas on an alternative that would be compatible with the COPS system I can't find a new one anywhere

Please help!!I'm completely new to this and bought an MN 99 for my 4 year old son as a first RC crawler, being on a budget. I knew the drive shafts were likely to break easily and sure enough after just a few indoor runs one and then the other snapped so i ordered metal replacement drive shafts and they arrived today. Problem is I cant remove the old plastic ones from the shafts!! Ive tried lots of brute force but no luck, and cant find any tips or video describing methods to remove them, can any body help???Thanks you!

Folks Have put a 150 a HW ESC in my slash, stock gearing and stock VXL motor, now the motor is clearly going to cook and obliterate itself. Can anyone reccomend me or have for sale a decent suitable motor and gearing advice plz? Itll be running mainly 3s and getting bashed n thrashed Ta

Hi, I have just bought the traxxas ken block rc car (brushless) and I am thinking about customising it , I have 2 lipo batteries and I'm planning on customising. So does anybody know where I can find some dirt tyres and wheels pre glued that would fit on this rc car ?

Hi, I'm thinking about getting the Traxxas 1/16 Ken Block Gymkhana Fiesta XL2.5 RTR or the other version of it. Does anybody know how long it lasts on average. Help would be much appreciated.
