15% off eBay today! The code just worked at Modelsport via eBay. Code = PRESENTS
-
To subscribe to Rcracer or not? Hmm!
-
It depends what you're into really.
The mag is primarily dedicated to racing, as the title suggests, but my main interest is trailing.
I found myself flicking through most copies, only stopping to read the odd article on a new release Tamiya,
or crawler that they had included.
If racing is your interest then you may like it.
My daughter got me a years subscription for xmas last year.
She doesn't know anything about RC. She just wanted to please her dad ?

10% off anything on eBay - code is PAYDAY

eBay has been good to me for a very long time, until I just spotted a payment on held on Paypal. Clicked it and a buyer has reported the item he paid for as an "unauthorised transaction" he did not make, so Paypal has now returned his money after he had the item delivered. Is this some sort of new scam?
Since I have responded with a tracking number etc, and I've emailed him a heavy message to which he responded and apologised as according to him "he did not make the transaction"
Don't pull the wool over my eyes because I have every message BEFORE you bidded, and AFTER you won the transaction, and most importantly it went to the address YOU are living at.

Seller protection = 1 scammer = 0. Provided PayPal with about 6 pages of screen shots and paragraphs of messages and evidence to this dispute and It’s now closed in my favour.
To the guy who tried to scam me if you are reading this then Im sorry to tell you but if you just asked me for the car before you tried to scam me I would of given it you for a fraction of the price or even for nothing if it really meant that much to you. I am not materialistic and I’m always up for helping others. Money come and goes but it’s only right to earn it honestly without trying to steal it off others..... may this be a lesson to you
-
The only sad thing about this is the scammer effectively got what he wanted. He got the goods...and a refund.
PayPal are out of pocket...but they get their money back by charging us all for using the service so theyhave a pot of money to hand out to scammers like this guy.
I'll keep an eye out for this joker and if I see him bidding on anything I sell, his bid is going to get removed. I have a list of people to whom this courtesy will be extended.

Spend over £400 at Currys / PC world and they dispatch the item via 2nd class recorded? That’s rubbish!

Yes, the seller is responsible until it's in the buyers hands. No doubt they either a have their own insurance, b have a deal with RM to cover a higher value than we mere mortals get (and RM account holders can pay pennies in the pound compared to us to send stuff) or c they lose so few they actually save money not insuring it.
2nd class is pants though for a £400 purchase.

35mph with the stock 14/48 gearing and a 2250kv motor. Doesn't say what the motor Kv is? if it's 2000 it will be slightly slower 2500 will be slightly quicker. It's massively under geared and will happily take a bigger pinion, although with the 100a ESC you may need to stick to a 17t pinion max. There are others on here running 20t+ with 150a ESC's. Personally I found the 17t plenty quick (about 45mph) but that's running off road. A 21t will see around 60mph

Buyer on eBay leaves neutral feedback without even contacting me? What a joke

Offered a job lot of RC cars. I was told there was absolutely loads and endless boxes of parts, and he wanted £1,000. Had a look at the photos and it turned out to be 4 cars and a box of bits. He tried to sell me them on without even telling me the makes, then decided to drop the price to £800 after I named each model and valued each one. Soon after exchanging messages the price miraculously dropped to £400. Still didn’t say yes, then later on £300 and a day or two later £250 lol. Sorry but If you can drop £750 then expect me to buy them the answer is no, simply because you tried to rob me in the first place like you would of done to some innocent guy trying to get into the hobby

While I disagree with what he was doing, this kinda con/scam only works on stupid people.
If someone has £1,000 to waste on something they don't know even the smallest thing about and they can't take the time to ask a few questions on a forum or FB group or similar, quite frankly, they deserve it.
Deserve maybe the wrong word, but the amount of posts you see from people on FB groups of like 'I bought this for £200 and don't know what it is' and it's like a well battered firestorm or something worth less than half what they paid.
Stupidity plays a big role in scams like that.
You just get a bit sick of it really, if these idiots stopped making it so easy for people to try and con others, maybe there would be a lot less of it.
