  1. Modelsport closing their checkout as of 11pm tonight until May 4th. I personally think they've done a fantastic job over the weeks keeping us all fed. Hopefully it will offer them relief time, poor guys must be shattered. Respect

I have never had any issues with Modelsport, always had good service.

They're closing for 2 days to catch up on orders,  I expect that have increased exponentially due to lockdown, people not visiting the store, and wanting something to keep themselves occupied.

Well BLOODY good luck Modelsport, get them orders sorted, emails dealt with and keep your business going

Thanks for carrying on this far and when we come out of the Covid Tunnel No 19, hope you're still with us

Only a few days off, ...they probably deserve more like a month off.

Always had good service from Modelsport UK and have spent a lot with them for that reason.

I might send them a thank you card and some biscuits 👍🏼 as they kept me going through my month off on furlough..😉( did cost me a fortune though 🤪 )

I've watch both the Guy Martin episodes and you're probably right, we're the aliens here, totally different culture and way of life.

Didn't know about James May until you mentioned it, found it on Prime so that's something for me to get stuck into. Thanks

I wish theyd take the show back to 90s style top gear. Rather than the lifestyle show it is now. I'll still watch though just incase. But the new guys are a jumble mess. Its horrid.

We need a segment on the lola cars 63 or whatever that spawned the GT40 and tell the real story of the Ford GT40. With this Ford vs Ferrari movie it gave uk one line in the whole film.

"The prototype is currently in England" that's it.

Hmmm, if rcbearings can’t help it will have to be a job to do on first strip down, although I like fitting bearings from the start.

gonna go with the flow on this, loads of stuff I’d like to upgrade on it but that will be over a period of time.

i can’t help thinking about some scale wheels and tyres though :whistling:

My tracking is still showing out for delivery, 7.34pm.

Just been onto the UPS website on live chat, after giving them all my personal info and security checks, only to be told that the support guy on the other end was in the US

Then he transfers me to a UK support center. Gave him all my info again only to be told that he can't check local deliverys and that I should call blah blah blah blah...

Mine is about 12quid from very empty, but I get around 160 miles from a full tank.

Bigger bikes, my Dads for example, is about 18quid to fill and he gets about 135 miles, but a lot more fun miles lol, so it's worth it :D

The bike that's high on my radar right now, a Triumph Street Triple R is apparently quite bad on fuel, about 22quid to fill and about 130-140 miles per tank, but again, it'd be well worth it.

    3. capri-boy

      capri-boy

Bonus.  My insurance seems to have levelled out now - i'm a few (not many) years younger than you but it's still a huge chunk more for a 5yr old diesel estate - come to think of it the insurance was actually a fair bit cheaper on it when I bought it new.  Guess that's inflation etc.  I'm so tempted by a summer run around - maybe something based off the Lotus 7 family or an early Boxster but a mix of insurance cost and swmbo pranging her 1:1 every other year keeps putting it off.

Tamiya IMO are the best kits for building. The detail to the shells are unrivaled, plus they can be bought reletivley cheap.

      froggy8

yeah i keep seeing you building cars, that is the reason why i asked. hope i havent offended you, i like tinkering with cars too but never built one tho.

    4. ChrisT

      ChrisT

Na no offence taken, although to some it can seem like a waste of time and money or ask the question of 'why?' lol

Iff you like tinkering then you might enjoy building, you don't have to spend much money on a kit.

Only eBay and that's for a cheap copy for £15. Had one of them in 2013 when the original adaptor went and it lasted 9 months. Not something you can pick up in Maplin either like most windows laptops.
