Started looking at bashers, only to go and order a Tamiya Scania 770s 🤷♂️ 🤣🤣
-
Loving the new job already, can’t beat getting paid to look out of a window and drive around Cornwall - especially delivering to the Cornwall Aerohub on a daily basis - it’s right next to the Spaceport where a satellite is due to be launched from in a couple of weeks.
Got up close and personal(ish) with the Cosmic Girl too - the 747 that’s launching the rocket, and a day later i was watching the rocket and satellite being unloaded in the same spot!
-
Start my new job Monday, doing what i love most - driving vans!
-
Ooopsie, might have ‘accidentally’ bought a set of Boom Racing Probuilds….
-
Everything to get the Phoenix running has arrived - batteries, radio and both servos, just waiting on the Fusion now.
I’m getting impatient to run it now, and I’m seriously tempted to order the lower kv Fusion from the UK and have it early next week just to get the thing driving asap, knowing my luck both will arrive on the same day 🤣

Why the fusion, and not the Axe R2?
I understand that the Fusion mounts neater, but the Axe R2 is just more convenient to use (programming via phone on the fly), and has smaller motors (due to no ESC module). More programming options and live telemetry without any requirements (other than a phone) are neat too. I've got both a Fusion (Sherpa 3.4) and an Axe R2 2800kv (TRX4) - my next purchase (likely a JT4) will get another Axe system.
-
Never had one, heard loads of good about it though. Albeit noisy. Fan of Holmes stuff since my Crawlmaster Pro 13t, still got it in my Trailfinder.
Can't argue about ease of installation, the Fusion is inarguably easier to sort out - but, it's not like you need to do extensive modifications to chassis and body to fit an Axe, either. Just thought i throw that into the ring as an alternative, since arguably it's the better setup, if you take "space" out of the equation.

So after nearly eight years working for Keter UK, I’ve sadly been made redundant with immediate effect.

I had the same thing @Pistonhead before but it took me a while to get another job unfortunately so I went through the severance package I got paying the bills.
Fingers crossed you get another job soon so that the money is a windfall for you.
-
So the factory i work at has been getting increasingly quiet over recent months, and unfortunately due to budget cuts has decided to offer up some redundancies. But instead of offering it to everyone, management has gone for the warehouse staff alone, with the complete disbanding of the 12-8 night shift in finished goods, and four material handlers on production.
Oh and only given us two weeks notice.
And to add insult to injury, this comes less than a month after I received my five year service bonus….

Back in the hobby after two years away!
My absolute legend of a girlfriend has just ordered me the new Vanquish VS4-10 Phoenix straight axle for my birthday. Downside is i’m starting from complete scratch, and on a tight budget too. At least i still get to upgrade down the line.
-
Took a gamble and cancelled my backorder at Amain for the SCX10III and reordered it from a supplier in the EU, at least I won’t (well, hopefully won’t) pay customs charges, all being well it should get to me quicker too...
-
Sold the SCX10II within two hours of listing, no screwing around there!
-
That’s the paint ordered for the SCX10III, can’t wait to get stuck into another build!
-
SCX10III, order placed!

Anyone watch the rc review channel on YouTube?
I can’t take it seriously, he has someone build the rigs for him, reads the product names off his laptop or the product itself, and is grossly misinformed or outright wrong most of the time too.
He also gets torn to shreds in the comments on most vids, and doesn’t even fight back, it’s like he knows he’s crap!
-
cue a small rant
He’s recently been given a load of Holmes Hobby motors and servos etc to review, not watched them yet though.
His comparison video on the 1800kv snubnose revolver and three brothers outrunner had me cringing laughibg and yelling at him lol. He’s outright wrong on some of the thing he says and his comparison was two different kv motors in two different rigs on different terrain, and the tests were crude too. Also he has no crawler driving skill whatsoever lol
-
Crawler meet this Sunday at the Cheeswring quarry on Bodmin Moor, should be a big one - lots of people coming from various local groups - PL14 5LJ is the meet point, hope to see some of you there!
-
Something for you music lovers, but nothing ordinary. Here’s The Hu, a Mongolian metal/throat singing group, they’re simply epic!
-
Latest RcMart purchase has only now left the country after being ordered and dispatched a week ago, hope it’s them or the postal service quarantining items bound for overseas lol.
Still planning on opening the box on top of Chapel Carn Brea (the highest point in Penwith) just to be safe 😂😂😂
-
Playing the ‘will i get Corona Virus or not’ game by ordering new radio gear from RCMart...
-
Found some AE green slime in my many boxes of rc stuff, didn’t know i even had it!
None of my shocks shall leak again!

GREAT READ
What 10,000 horsepower does to a top fuel tire at launch.
TOP FUEL ACCELERATION PUT INTO PERSPECTIVE
* One Top Fuel dragster 500 cubic-inch Hemi engine makes more horsepower (10,000 HP) than the first 5 rows at the Daytona 500.
* Under full throttle, a dragster engine consumes 1.2-1.5 gallons of nitro methane per second; a fully loaded 747 consumes jet fuel at the same rate with 25% less energy being produced.
* A stock Dodge Hemi V8 engine cannot produce enough power to merely drive the dragster's supercharger.
* With 3000 CFM of air being rammed in by the supercharger on overdrive, the fuel mixture is compressed into a near-solid form before ignition. Cylinders run on the verge of hydraulic lock at full throttle.
* At the stoichiometric 1.7:1 air/fuel mixture for nitro methane the flame front temperature measures 7050 degrees F.
* Nitromethane burns yellow. The spectacular white flame seen above the stacks at night is raw burning hydrogen, dissociated from atmospheric water vapor by the searing exhaust gases.
* Dual magnetos supply 44 amps to each spark plug.
This is the output of an arc welder in each cylinder.* Spark plug electrodes are totally consumed during a pass. After 1/2 way, the engine is dieseling from compression plus the glow of exhaust valves at 1400 degrees F. The engine can only be shut down by cutting the fuel flow.
* If spark momentarily fails early in the run, unburned nitro builds up in the affected cylinders and then explodes with sufficient force to blow cylinder heads off the block in pieces or split the block in half.
* Dragsters reach over 300 MPH before you have completed reading this sentence.
* In order to exceed 300 MPH in 4.5 seconds, dragsters must accelerate an average of over 4 G's. In order to reach 200 MPH well before half-track, the launch acce leration approaches 8 G's.
* Top Fuel engines turn approximately 540 revolutions from light to light!
* Including the burnout, the engine must only survive 900 revolutions under load.
* The redline is actually quite high at 9500 RPM.
* THE BOTTOM LINE: Assuming all the equipment is paid off, the crew worked for free, & for once, NOTHING BLOWS UP, each run costs an estimated $1,000 per second.
0 to 100 MPH in .8 seconds (the first 60 feet of the run)
0 to 200 MPH in 2.2 seconds (the first 350 feet of the run)
6 g-forces at the starting line (nothing accelerates faster on land)
6 negative g-forces upon deployment of twin ‘chutes at 300 MPH An NHRA Top Fuel Dragster accelerates quicker than any other land vehicle on earth . . quicker than a jet fighter plane . . . quicker than the space shuttle. The current Top Fuel dragster elapsed time record is 4.420 seconds for the quarter-mile (2004, Doug Kalitta). The top speed record is 337.58 MPH as measured over the last 66' of the run (2005, Tony Schumacher).
Putting this all into perspective:
You are driving the average $140,000 Lingenfelter twin-turbo powered Corvette Z06. Over a mile up the road, a Top Fuel dragster is staged & ready to launch down a quarter-mile strip as you pass. You have the advantage of a flying start. You run the 'Vette hard up through the gears and blast across the starting line & pass the dragster at an honest 200 MPH. The 'tree' goes green for both of you at that moment.
Epstein didn't kill himself.
The dragster launches & starts after you. You keep your foot down hard, but you hear an incredibly brutal whine that sears your eardrums & within 3 seconds the dragster catches & passes you.
He beats you to the finish line, a quarter-mile away from where you just passed him. Think about it - from a standing start, the dragster had spotted you 200 MPH & not only caught, but nearly blasted you off the road when he passed you within a mere 1320 foot long race! That's acceleration!

This Trail King build is looking more and more like a £1k build 😂 Just the chassis, body, wheels and tyres stands me at just over £600 so far, and still have the electrics to purchase, plus a few other assorted items at the very end lol.
Still worth every penny imo
-
Two minutes to clear customs, i’ll take that as a good sign lol
-
That’s the SSD Trail King ordered, came to £385 with postage, but as i already had £160 in my PayPal, it worked out i only paid £225 for it - only around £30 more than a new SCX10 ii Raw Builders Kit. Can’t wait to get hold of it lol
-
Saying goodbye to the Tekno ET410 tomorrow, and soon saying hello to a new SSD Trail King 😎
-
Got to love RcBitz, ordered an SSD bumper and fairlead at 1:30am and it’s been marked as dispatched by 4:30am!
