Receiver boxes for 1/8 scale..
Trying to find one I like for my Hyper ST build is more difficult than I thought it would be 😕

L&L models, are they usually a good shop to deal with, i seem to be having a little bit of a problem with them, ordered a body nearly a week ago showing in stock at order, had conformation email then nothing no shipped email no item now showing out of stock, so emailed to ask to cancel and refund
-
L&L will never give a refund. I'm surprised you even had a response from them. Made an order for a few shells a while back and only received half of what I bought. I sent multiple emails and gave them two weeks to respond but in the end had to do a PayPal dispute. If you really really need something from them use their eBay shop. It'll cost a little more but they seem to behave a bit better on there to avoid bad feedback.

Has anyone got any experience with L&L models? I've ordered two shells off them but only one arrived. I've sent them two emails since Wednesday last week, but have not received any response. I'd be happy with a refund for the shell I didn't receive but I can't seem to get anywhere with them
-
So I opened up a PayPal dispute and they accepted the refund terms pretty much immediately. I gave them more than enough time to respond beforehand but it seems they actively chose to ignore the problem instead of just explaining what happened. I still don't even know what happened to the second shell, presumably they mis-read the order and only sent one, but they still haven't contacted me directly so that's just speculation. They read the Facebook message I sent and still didn't reply. All in all I don't know what to think. The stuff I did receive was fine, but being ignored and hoping they could get away with it seems super shady.

What is silicone diff lube? Does it go by another name? The stuff that goes into a ball diff. I'm asking because I need to rebuild a few diffs but you can only buy it in these tiny 10ml pots that cost £4 each.

Every hobby has its bad eggs. But one group I always found had a disproportionately toxic user base was the super large scale plane guys. I think Kev touched on it in his video, maybe they couldn't cut it as real pilots and so became super angry. But they love to hate on everyone else. Here's a good example
I'm not saying everyone who flys them is bad, there are some super nice people out there, but a way higher percentage of them exist in that user base. I just don't get it, it's already a super niche hobby. Why would you try to push people out?

What's everyone's experience with the ATModels shop?
-
Just taken a trip down memory lane and watched some vids from the forum jams, great memories. I and my cars were in quite a lot of footage.
-
Those were the best days for this hobby imo. Cars could be built at a fairly reasonable price, and they were easy to repair, no one was afraid to do a little damage. Since then cars got bigger and heavier and more powerful, but also a lot more expensive. Repair bills have skyrocketed and no one wants to send their £600-1000 car over the big jumps any more.
I must be getting old thinking back to the good ol' days like this lol.

Hmmm, I was fearing that. Ordered a Savox servo off them Wednesday last week but the order hasn't moved since that. It has now gone out of stock on the website but was definitely listed in stock when I ordered it. I'll give them till Wednesday this week to see what happens. It seems like a week should be plenty of time to dispatch an item, especially when I paid for next day postage.

How much faster do you think a 120C lipo would discharge than a 70C?
Just looking for some new batteries, the 120C are 600 more mah and £5 cheaper, i'm guessing the extra 600mah would negate most of the extra discharge rate? or have i got it wrong and it won't really be any difference?-
Quickly to add to what to what BashingBrian said. I was watching a video from a very knowledgeable guy on YouTube (can't remember who now, was a while a go). But basically the industry method for deciding C rating was to look what your competitor was claiming, and then adding 10 to it. It's basically the reason why C rating for LiPo's has skyrocketed in the last few years. CNHL is apparently one of the worst for this. I'm not claiming CNHL are bad. I'm 90% percent convinced they are just re-branded Turningy batteries, which I always found excellent.

10% off at CNHL in his video description 🙂

I miss Hobbyking 😔

They can't ship from the EU to the UK anymore @QRC. The only option that remains is the international warehouse. Shipping costs from there are usually more than the items you are buying.

$79.99 plus postsge etc for a Losi Mini B Pro Roller at A Main if anyone’s interested

To be petty or not? Brand new drill ordered from Amazon won't release the drill bit (the pin that holds the chuck has sheared off). I've arranged a return, but obviously the brand new drill bit I put in will be going with it. Should I be cheeky and ask for a replacement bit as well?

Wow, gotta say I’m blown away with the Flysky Noble NB4, what a stunning bit of kit for the money!

As AJ mentioned, I bought mine from Banggood for sub £150. A very good deal and absolutely worth every penny @shaunm

Fully agreed. I've been racing with one for a few weeks now. It simply blows other mid tier radios out of the water. Hell it's even better than most £300-£400 plus sets. The feature set is better than my older Futaba radio, and pair that with the low response time setting there is no need to even consider anything else. Plus it has the nice little bonus of being left hand friendly, and the fgr4s receiver is the tiniest little thing, makes it so easy to put in any space. I honestly think this is the perfect radio set.

Where does everyone buy their LiPo's these days? I always used Hobbyking but it seems they have moved all battery sales to the international warehouse now.
-
Just been poking around the HobbyKing Facebook page. It looks like they want to ship to the UK from the EU warehouse, but they cannot acquire the correct paperwork to do so due to Brexit (they say they can't get an EORI number. Full disclosure, I have no idea what that is). Hopefully this is something they can sort out and EU warehouse order may become possible again. 🤞

Thank you everyone one, I'll keep an eye on Amazon. Honestly @James.S for a second there I thought those brand names were something you had just made up lol, but no they really do exist 🤣.
@GMballistic Do you get charged import on the stuff you get from HK? The postage prices seem crazy, more than the actual batteries I'm buying, but I suppose if I got a few it might make sense.

Has anyone bought from Redfin Models before? Website looks ok to me but never used them.
