  1. Just posted my little collection in the TC section.  Worth a look IMHO.

  2. Its great that shops list everything they can order in from a supplier.  I search for a a specific term (servo saver). Returns 122 matches, of 1which only 1 was suitable and was discontinued in the end. when I go to order. And no there's no ''show in stock only'' option because they are a dropshipper and don't carry any stock physically.

  3. selling cars always hurts but it means other projects get to be finished. Another 3  have to leave first though.

if it hurts dont sell 🙂

      Lone-wolf

hmm, i keep looking at my jumpshot and thinking i could sell it to fund the new Hobao GT speed runner but i really dont think i could part with the st flux

  4. Old 2wd Stampede XL5 found at my parents, what to do with it? Needs a thorough rebuild so...?

Also found a early 1/10th HPI E-Savage and Tamiya Street Rover XB. Old me was a hoarder lol.

nice finds Garry !! some cool rcs there the 2wd pede is alot of fun with a cheap Bl setup 🙂 e savvys getting rarer too

I remember the E-Zilla! Stampede is worth a rebuild, the E-Savage not so much, probably hard to find bits for now!

  5. Honestly who super glues electrics into a chassis in 2021? I almost cried opening the box... Acetone to the rescue.

    1. Alex97

      Alex97

Who does that in any year!

    2. Oh How Original

      Oh How Original

Hmmm, yeah gotta admit, with the fact epoxy and double sided tape/foam exists (and often comes in the box with new electrics) that is an oddball for sure.

Depending on the vehicle, perhaps it was an 'in the field' quick fix?

Racetrack with a carbon fibre chassis? Pure savagery.

  6. Apparently the answer to the question "how many chargers does one guy need?" is at least 6 according to my workshop 😄

Think I now have more chargers than batteries as every couple of years I have this habit of wanting to try a new one 🤣

    3. turok007

      turok007

I don't know how many chargers i have  as a few years ago i listed a job lot on here and ebay  but never sold  so i have a sealed box someplace with chargers in it. .

    4. Garry

      Garry

I've got a Gforce G6P as my bench unit.
iCharger 406 duo for my main race LiPo charger
      Orion Advantage for retro racing.
      Nosram Stealth Evo for NiMh

      Toolkit M800 for radio cells

some random Absima for charging in the field.

  7. 've got the urge to own another  proper RWD drift car, or a scale crawler. Problem is I've got literally no places to run either properly. I thought sleeping on the idea might shake it off but nope. 2 months later and the idea is still there.

How do you rationalise such things?

      Garry

3Racing Sakura D5 but no indoor club nearby to run one nicely. they don't slide in a scale like manner on tarmac.
Carisma SCA1E but I'm town based with no garden so nowhere nicely rural to flex its muddy credentials.

I'm heavily into racing touring cars so no problems justifying silly purchases usually but these a bit of a stretch.

    3. Bajadre

      Bajadre

maybe mini drifters like the Zs gary? always wanted one of those pricey but get a board made up with a course could be cool fun :) then just pack it away after etc

    4. Oh How Original

      Oh How Original

      Crawler, just because.

But something more scale than the Carisma, if you want scale scale.

  8. So I've just bought a body requiring a custom chassis. If you know what the race car ''Old Nail'' was, you'll know what I've got.

I looked old nail and saw a garage full of vauxhalls. No idea lol. My first thought was that Toyota wedge car with like thrusters on the back of it. Mayb the first ground effect race car i forget. As seen in gran turismo.

  9. RC banger racing on a short oval  with scale Jaaags and Granadas look like my next racing class to try.

I look forward to this! Once you're posted it I'll get it shared on social media, I think it'll be really interesting and inspiring for some!

I find sometimes that I enjoy the building and modding more than driving a specific RC so once that's done I sell on to fund the next project/build.

I find it difficult to let them go once I've finished upgrading and problem solving. Still have ten cars, but plan to shift another as it's not my bag.

Nearly bought a 4S ESC for an E-Maxx years ago, but their rep wasn't great.

  14. I felt sick yesterday hearing thews of racing legend Alex Zanardi having a very serious accident. From the sound of his injuries he's very lucky to be alive and possibly has similar neurological injuries to myself. Fingers crossed the Italian pulls through - he's my motorsport hero.

Yes, an incredible guy, excels at everything, he is obviously a fighter, but same as you really sad to hear about this, sounded like a very bad accident.

Jeeze just Googled what happened, ...hit by a truck! 😲  Fingers crossed for him.

  15. The neighbours kid knows I race RC  at the local club. His mum brought him along to watch us race just before lockdown started. He's been saving since to buy a car on his own. Today I built up an RTR  TT01 out of my unused spares and at the weekend he can have it for nowt so he can join the club when we start up racing again this winter.

Its nothing much but gets another hooked on the hobby we love.
