  1. I had similar worries over Lipo's at first but I've been using them for years now. OP just get yourself a Lipo bag to charge them in (or a safe box like mentioned above) and a cheap ammo tin from Ebay (£10 - £15) to keep them in when not using and that should put your mind at ease. Keep an eye on them when charging and you're sorted. Once you've charged / storage charged one a couple of times and seen how much better than NIMH they are you won't want to go back.
  2. Hello Ones without leads very similar to the link you posted. I think i got mine from Ebay. No problems whatsoever with them and been using them in the truck for over a year now.
  3. Hi mate Thanks for all that. Went with the budget options you listed here to see how I get on.
  4. I haven't got any Traxxas batteries (or chargers). For my Maxx I use the Overlanders above for 4s and then I've got some cheap Fleureon 3s lipos that have XT60 plugs and I use XT60 to TRX adaptors with those.
  5. I use these ones in my Maxx. Correct plug and fit nicely in the tray. https://www.modelsport.co.uk/index.php?product_id=443252
  6. Hi guys Recently got an Associated B6.2 but have never had a race buggy before and I'm a bit lost with regards to a Motor and ESC for it.. The wheelspin pro package finishing kit has a Hobbywing Max10 combo with 3652SL 4000Kv motor listed but I've been told that that won't actually fit in the car? I guess what I'm looking for is advice on a budget, mid range and expensive setup so I can compare and see where my budget fits.. Any help is appreciated!
  7. Thanks for that, I've just ordered it. Might not figure it out but it's worth a try at the price.
  8. Yeah I like the look of the Traxxas one. I'm just not sure how to make it work with the 1080esc?
  9. Hello. I've finished building my TRX-4 sport kit. Absolutely loved the build but I want to add a light kit to it now. All I want is 2 white and 2 orange for the front (5mm for white and 3mm for orange I believe and 2 red for the back, Also 5mm i think) The Traxxas one seems very expensive compared to the light kits I used to put on my drift cars a few years ago and looking at the wiring diagram on the Traxxas site plugs into an XL5 esc as well as the receiver but I'm running the Hobbywing 1080 esc so I'm not sure how or if I could bypass that anyway.? Does anybody know of any reasonably priced kits elsewhere? Thanks
  10. This is sorted now. the receiver I have has 2 ch1’s and I had the Esc and servo plugged in them both..
  11. That doesn’t work either. ive got steering but I just can’t get that second beep for the throttle position.
  12. Hi there. Thanks for that but I'm not exactly sure how to do that..
  13. Hi Guys Having a few issues calibrating my new Hobbywing 1080 ESC. It's on a TRX-4 sport kit that I'm halfway through building and i got the ESC from modelsport last week with a traxxas plug and motor bullets soldered on. I also got a 4ch Traxxas TQI radio and receiver off ebay which arrived today and thought I'd plug everything in and get it calibrated now before I try and finish the build tomorrow night but I just can't get it to calibrate the throttle positions! I hold the power and set buttons together until it starts to beep and then press the set button once to confirm the neutral position which it does, I get one beep and one flash of the light but I can't get it any further than that. Everytime I try and set the forward position I don't get a beep or a flash. The steering is working so I'm really hoping it's not the ebay TX/RX that's the problem. Also, I'm not sure how much life was left in the battery I plugged in to calibrate it. Anybody else struggled to calibrate these before or have any ideas as to what I might be doing wrong? Thanks
  14. Hi guys. Got my first TRX-4 last week. The sport kit which I'm currently building. One thing I have noticed though is that the stock wheels seem very light so I'm thinking of doing something with those straight away. The two options I'm considering are either getting a set of Gmade beadlock steel wheels or going with the cheaper option of getting some wheel weights to add a bit of weight to the stock ones. Any guidance there guys?
