Boilers ... I get someone in to give it it';s annual health check, and it's going to cost me £500 to patch it up. £200 last year, and it's 8 years old.
I know where this is going. New boiler time. Otherwise it'll be the pump, the fan, etc. etc. and I wioll be throwing good money after bad.
Plans for an RC fleet reshuffle for 2017 have just been wiped out.

Depends on the age of the rads etc. With an old system a filter might be a good idea as it's a lot gentler than power flushing which can reveal pinholes in old rads and pipes.
When I had my system installed in May it replaced electric storage heaters so it included proper sized and run pipework. What a contrast to the builder installed heating in my old house where they cut corners wherever possible and used small bore pipe.

A filter is must imo. But your fitters prices is well off! We fit these....
Only adds 10 mins to the job, so your fitter is basically making £275 10mins work!

Interesting....Thanks for that AJ.
Especially as it's not a gas safe task, so I could get one fitted as a seperate task by a plumber on mates rates after the fact I am wondering if they are including a cost for extending the warranty to 10 years....but I can check that easy enough.
Thanks for all teh info/input guys Much appreciated
