Just seen this pinned on RC Kicks youtube channel

There was an error in the system when they setup the pricing for EU and the UK. It will be corrected in the next day or so and you can expect it to be much more in line with all other countries. FWIW, I am one of the Category Managers in the Surface division at Horizon Hobby.

I wonder if this was a legit error, or Horizon back tracking? Same thing happened with the Tamiys BBX

It has to be backtracking, I had a look over on MS Facebook page and most people yesterday said it was too expensive and they plan to import it themselves from somewhere like Amain..!!

Horizon Hobby just too damn greedy in my opinion....

    Now today....

I have to admit I had wondered the same. I haven't pre ordered one yet as part of me wants to wait until people get their hands on them however I can also see Horizon possibly increasing the price again.

Personally, I think it will sell out..!!

I'm certainly no fanboy, but my comparison to justify it, is this... Most Arrma 1/8 rigs cost the same if not more money, and tbh they are all old Durango technology that is way overpriced..!!

At least this bike is mostly all new tech, like the gyro flywheel etc.

I want one, it's that simple..!! Just need to decide wether to import or pre-order in the UK..!!

Losi have posted quite a few videos on their page, with hopups and maintenance..

It probably will sell out now

Maybe just me being cynical but overpricing it to start with then knocking off up to £180 of price smacks of sharp practice tho

So it wasn’t an ‘error’ they got greedy and reduced it. And everyone slates Traxxas, Horizon are a horrible company!

I remember HH being a great company when they had a UK presence then they moved it to France and it got crap

When in UK my sons Spektrum DX6i had a faulty stick pot it was out of warranty and they fixed foc

Same with my Blade 130X it developed a shudder in flight and again fixed free

I fully expected a repair bill  but they never charged me  and that was 2012 ish

but now not same company to deal with

£710 on Modelsport, so much for me getting one 🙁

At the £300 sort of mark I can easily see a lot of RC fans take a punt on it out of curiosity and interest/curiosity, myself included.  However at over £700, the only people I can see buying one are the die hard RC motorbike fans, all 3 of them.

If i hadn't bought and built a Capra and a boat, for £579 i'd probably get one. Not that they're particularly great bashers from what i've seen (though they do bash), but they're better priced than most other Traxxas/Horizon stuff (considering it's running two motors, new actual engineering/design etc).

As it sits, the wallet has to recover a bit first.

It’s down to £579 now on Modelsport. :good:

As for the price, well unfortunately nowadays, £300 doesn’t go far if you plan on buying one of the “bigger” brands, myself at £500, id have begged for a kidney sale, who knows, although i might end up with one at some point, be great to have a “working” rc bike. :insane:

If there's any left from the the first batch when shops get them in I'll definitely be getting one, though my plans for getting some of the shiny bits and supermoto wheels/tyres will probably have to wait a good while longer as the price for them is also eye watering 😅

Probably want to check if there's a metally upgrade bit for the "radiator" part - RCDriver_Online snapped it there, didn't seem too strong.

Still drove, but it only took one nosedive (easy with a bike) to snap it.

All the big names have big issues like greed, this is one reason i like FTX, they always seem to be an honest company, selling stuff at the right sort of price

Even at £600 I still think it's extremely over priced.  Have a look at the Kyosho Moto Hanging On Racer Honda, it's less than a third of the price, but watch a few of the YouTube reviews on it, even Kevin Talbot has done a review on it.  However the stabilizers on it are in reality training wheels, as in once you get the hang of controlling it, you can and are supposed to remove them - again watch any of the YouTube reviews and opinions on it.  So yes the Losi is more ''complex'' and ''realistic behaving'' - like the riders head bobbing, the reality is most of their so called new redefining RC motor bike RC technology and design, is more of a gimmick than anything else, and not worth the cost.  There's hundreds of videos on YouTube of people using and even racing the Kyosho Moto Hanging On Racer Honda with the stabilisers removed - KT and his mates even did it on his review of it once he'd gotten the hang of it which didn't take long.  The promotional video from Losi doesn't even show it being used without stabilisers, and it's over triple the price of the Kyosho Moto Hanging On Racer Honda.

For that much coin, I expect a lot more, just compare what you can get for £600, or even £450 - leaving you enough change to buy a Kyosho Moto Hanging On Racer Honda as well, in a traditional RC car something like a Traxxas, Coralley, HoBao, HPI. Armma........

For starters, the Kyosho bike isn't "less than a third". The kit is £170 (no, the one offer at £150 that's out of stock doesn't count). You still need ESC, Servo and Radio. So even if we're generous and say only £70 for all the above, you're at £250.

That's £250 for a brushed, non-stabilised 1/8th bike that barely makes jogging speed. Makes a £579, dual-brushless, stabilised 1/4th bike that goes 40+mph with external disc brake look actually pretty good. What you're arguing is that a Kronos or Savage is vastly overpriced because look how cheap TT01 are.

I'm not arguing that the Promoto is cheap, it is not. It only appears "extremely overpriced" if you don't pay attention though, and draw your conclusions from false equivalence. For what it is, that's more or less the price i'd expect (i did expect £550).
