Basher 1/16 Monster Trucks - Bad Bug & Hellseeker

    Basher 1/16 4WD Mini Monster Truck V2 - Bad Bug + Hellseeker

The Basher family has grown bigger but with something smaller. Introducing the 1/16th Mini Monster Truck V2.  The original Basher Mini MT was fun but the V2 takes it a step further with better handling and increased durability.  Available RTR, ARTR and as Kits.

There are some exciting upgrades added to this Mini Monster Truck. The transmission has had a makeover with tougher transmission gears and a slipper clutch to the reduce the wear and tear on the driveline. After listening to feedback the dog bones are longer and stronger extending further into the newly designed drive cups that are now made of a harder steel alloy to avoid losing dogbones on maximum compression or extension. The arms and shock towers have been made of a new stiffer plastic compound and the tires are made of a slightly softer compound. All this adds up to more precise handling and less chance of damage, so the fun goes harder and longer.

The Basher 1/16th Mini MT features a 2 x 2S LiPo capable brushless power system, and puts all that power down through a solid 4WD drivetrain. With 4 oil filled shocks and heavy duty components, this truck can hold its own with the big boys!

As with the original Mini MT a cool feature of the V2 is the special wheelie bar with an aluminum shock absorber that can be tuned to push the truck back onto four wheels or to maintain a steady wheely. Perfect for avoiding the embarrassing walk of shame out into the middle of your local bashing spot or track to flip your truck back upright.

The attention to detail on this truck is extraordinary. The engineers and designers at Basher underwent an extensive testing and development process to ensure you many hours of uninterrupted fun. But it's an off-road monster truck so, eventually, you're going to break something so there is an extensive range of spares and upgrade parts in stock and all the parts on the V2 are cross-compatible with the original Nitro Circus Mini Monster Truck.

The Basher 1/16 4WD Mini Monster Truck V2 is the ultimate small scale basher with speed, durability, and all-around fun wrapped into one neat little package.

    Features:
    • Slipper clutch in the transmission and tougher transmission gears

Interesting that they have been designed to run on 4s.  Motor Kv seems a tad high (2800kv) but and without calculating, the drive ratio seems to support this nicely.

For me the kit price is a little high in comparison to the the arr and rtr's.  So for me it would be a arr  with the likely hood of a new servo.

Does anyone know if these are based from another model?

Would it not be longer run Times? Eg, 2000mah + 2000mah making 4000?

or it is like already said made for 4s?

very strange but I like the monster truck, everything looks good together on it.

The bug looks lovely but 4s! Really?

I assume you don't have to run on 4c, But always better to have the option than not.

The battery layout is just a straight copy of the Merv, run 2 packs to double your run time, no way it's going to be 4s ready.....

    That is ......er....crazy.

No idea how long it will last, but I reckon it will be a proper giggle until it self destructs!

One's to watch when the inevitable Cyber Monday sale crops up I think.  The more I look at it the more I want one - I love the tyres, far more scale looking than anything I currently run on a micro.

Having run a couple Micro MT's I think the same level of sillyness could have been guaranteed with a much higher KV motor and 2S, and with planning that still leaves the option for 3S stupidity should it be needed.  As is that's quite some torque that could be on on offer - I hope the drivetrain is upto the task.  Add to that the logisitics of single packs over twin set ups.

I'm thinking kit version, a 2850 leopard out the EMB-TGH and a HW EZRUN 60a running 2x2S in parallel.  Looking at the chassis there looks room to fit the longer can to compensate for loosing some Torque.

    These look great fun.

Sort of reminds you of 'that yappy little dog next door' sort of thing.

Not sure about the gimmicky 'alloy wheely bar shock', but at least the mains are threaded.

Perhaps a little low on the ESC capacity - 35A?

    Al.

Got mine today. I've got the nitro circus one too. Really tough little things.  It's not worth leaving the lights on the mt one. They just get trashed & bugger the roll cage.

Anyone got  a linky to the esc?

I have never seen a 4s capable 35a esc.  Running the emb1 truggy motor on 2 or 3s would be a good idea as previously mentioned.  But the saying 'volt up and gear down'  has certainly been applied here in stock form.

Great vids imo.  I shall be getting one at some point, but until I know what servos fit, I shall hold off.

Edit://  Actually on second thoughts I may just get the kit, strip out my emb1 truggy motor, esc and servo, run 2x2s parrallel (emb lipos will fit easily)

    • Though I need to know the wheel hex size as well as offset?  Is this thing running 1:10 buggy tres by chance?
    • Anyone seen a manual?

Both Batt tray sizes  are said to be 100 x 32 x 16mm

The ESC in my nitro circus one only got warm. One of the wires broke off plug that goes to the ESC. But I think that was down a twig. .  I've only broken body posts & the wheelybar shock. Oh & obviously a couple of bodies.    Better quality than trucks twice the price. Spares are a bugger to get hold of though.

yeah whats the story with spares.  HK have em listed as niitro circus, but they say the new model uses better plastics.  So if they break u replace em with worse quality?

I think I've just found my next rc to fill the mini slot. Something me and my kid can use. I want something small and cheap for the skate park.

It is very merv inspired lol, the shocks are straight copy mayb longer and probably stronger.

I think I would upgrade the elecs tho 35a doesn't sound enough for 4s and 4s will have to be done.

Is this the same thing as the nitro circus one? I wanted one of those but read some bad reviews.

But the hobbyking monster beatle was an option too, there's a video of one running 4s and it took some abuse no issue. Mayb 40+ mph hitting a kerb then cartwheeling 30ft and driving off.

It's pretty much exactly the same as the mini nitro circus. Ive got the bad bug & nitro circus mini mt.   I'd recommend screwing the wing on the bug. I foam taped mine on.& I've lost it :/ .     The ESC is getting warmer than the one in the nitro circus mini, but the gears are a bit tight, it'll loosen up & things'll cool down.  Oh, & the body has an overspray on it. I didn't notice until I'd stickered it up :/

they say they have improved this over the Nitro circus one.

Dogbones longer and stronger so they don't fall out, better plastic quality, improved diff design and some other stuff.  It all sounds good but there are no new, improved spares available :(
