I don't see the point of getting a punto to such a concourse finish, its your first car and I'm guessing its left out in the rain, so theres all that hard work gone. I'd just give it a wax and polish every now and then if it were me.

Back to the headlight adjustment thing, they should be adjusted for the type of road and the load you have not just the load! The amount of people I see driving around with their headlights set on the highest setting, worst offenders are people with HID's!!

O and bodykits do add alot to insurance, I was looking at buying a mates 1.2 8v corsa with full irmscher kit, with steinmetz goodies and various other parts, cheapest quote I got was 2000! for an 8v! (it did have a port and polished head though! rofl )

Thats because its a 1.3 really....

My punto is a 1.2, but its 1242cc

Fiesta's are very expensive for a first car....

i had alot of troubles with getting decent quotes

Older corsa

Small engine

Car value alot less = Bargain insurance! :)

Ziggy

not that simple lol

was getting qotes for

A little update :)

I'm just quoting what i put on DW

When i brought my car - it was a typical girls car :(

Under handle scratchs, swirled from sponges and carwashs's

I did try removing swirls, but my sander as a polisher just aint doing it

So i gave up to a degree

So she's been sealed up, and a little tlc and she looks pretty darn good :)

Sorry there isn't any before and afters, or 50/50's

But its a first attempt :)

Looks pretty good :)

So what have i used?

AG Body Conditioner - (smells like limes! :P )

Meg's Quick Detailing clay and lube

Then with a silverline RO - A Menz Polish pad with Pb SSR2.5

Then a Lake County blue (light cut) with Men'z Final Finish II

Once that was done, i wacked a layer of SRP or 2, to help fill anything left :)

Once the car was buffed up, i then wacked a layer of Carlack Long Life Sealent

Once the bodywork was taken car off

I Blackened the bumpers with AG bumper Care

The tyres got a blast or 2! :)

Interior, nothing much and no piks :( (might go get some) Using Basic APC wipes, and then MF's dried on dash etc

Hoovered

My Kick pannels (near doors) Were treated as well

Stupidly i did my mats.... Meaning my floor very slippy!

Once that was all done the AG glass polish :)

And i'm glad to say shes a shiner! :)

Next its the engine bay :) Which is quiet messy and needs some TLC :(

Ziggy

Next car is the nice family car the cit picaso infront of me :)

Thats 1 big swirly porker :)

Back to the headlight adjustment thing, they should be adjusted for the type of road and the load you have not just the load! The amount of people I see driving around with their headlights set on the highest setting, worst offenders are people with HID's!!

A car with HID's should have automatic levelling. I've got them on my Fabia and you don't have a level adjustment control as the car sorts it all out itself. The only time HID's will be at the wrong level is when someone has retro-fitted them to a car.

And really it is just the load, because the more weight in the boot of the car the lower the back end so the lights point up higher. Normal setting should be 0 for when you have an empty boot. The more weight you put in the back the more you need to increase the number to angle the lights back down. The road shouldn't really have anything to do with it. If its a lumpy road then you'll end up dazzling people occasionally regardless.

least having a vaxhal there engines are so simple a chimp could work on them, ideal for any first car :P

adam

Sumet thats aint easy to say about a punto

The water temp sensor for instance

is held on by 2 bolts....

Took about 2 hours to get them out!!

U have to take soo much off to get to them!

Nm has happened really since the footwell lights

Except a nice Debox on the back :)

th_Blowing.jpg

nah i didnt really debox it - the exhaust has corroded on the Support bar - as a result with the hot engine and freezing air outside it cracked and fell off :(
