Build recommendations please

Hi,

 

Not built a kit in a long while and want something to get my hands busy with.

 

It’s just for bashing in the garden. I don’t like trucks or truggies. I’ve got all the required RC gear etc. 

 

could someone suggest a kit please. I seems that almost everything is now RTR if it’s not a Tamiya or pro level. What happened to all the kits. It’s so much fun to build. Am I missing something?

LC racing have a few kit options that might work for a bit of back garden bashing. 
 

I’ve got one of the 1/14 scale truggies which is very good fun and pretty solid. But they also do a few other variants of that chassis, alongside some slightly larger scale model buggies and a rally car, if that’s not your thing.

Otherwise Traxxas, kyosho and a couple of others, have a few models you buy as a kit but, unfortunately, there isn’t a huge choice out there if Tamiya is off the list.

Could consider buying used. I find the old complete strip clean and rebuild can be as much fun as building a kit 🙂

I can vouch for that. I had a ton of fun buying cheap, stripping, cleaning the rebuilding the Xray. No reason you cant buy a 2nd hand higher spec car for Tamiya money and make it a project.

 

There was a lovely Xray XB4 for sale on ebay the other day. 2013 model but had all the upgrade gear (im being biased as an xray fanboi lol). But there is plenty about.
