So far mods include - RC4WD 1.0 stamped steel wheels wrapped in BFGoodrich KR3 tyres Emax 12g metal gear servo Hobbywing 1060 ESC Custom built tilting dump bed Various other little visual tweaks and enhancements Next job will be to re do the wiring and fit a linear servo to make the dump bed operational and then I thinks it can be called done. stupar Posted January 26, 2023 Author Share Posted January 26, 2023 Ok so here is the first rudimentary test of the 1/18 Chevy dump bed. I can safely report that the actuator length is just perfect. The motion is a touch fast on 7.4v 2s so I might go for a lower voltage to slow the motion down. The clever part is the micro board that allows it to be controlled via the RC has a separate power supply so I can lower the actuator voltage without affecting the main battery 👌 3 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Got the Hobbywing 1060 motor and battery wires soldered and the second battery installed to power the linear actuator. It's alive!!!! The 1060 gives far better low speed control and without the awful ESC whine of stock. The little Overlander 2S lipo powers the tipper bed effortlessly and it tucks nicely into the engine bay.
