Pistonheads’ Vanquish VS4-10 Phoenix

I may have had to wait up for the delivery this morning (i work nights and finished 7am) i couldn’t get to sleep and ended up building up the axles and chassis too lol.

So far, I’m blown away by the Vanquish build experience - the fit and finish on the parts and assemblies is something i can only liken to a Tekno, from the hardware to the way everything effortlessly glides together!

Next up is that glorious VFD Twin transmission….

One last bit for today, getting the inner fenders, radiator and electronics mountings all installed on the chassis.

Truly bowled over with the quality, fit, finish and overall build experience. If it’s this good to build then i can see it being an absolute jewel to drive!

Cheers for the comments guys, it’s great to be back in the hobby again!

Finally decided on electronics and ordered them this evening. I’ve gone for a Savox sw1212sg, good for 46kg on 2s, Hobbywing 2300kv Fusion Pro and program box, and a Flysky GT5 along with an Overlander charger.

Itching to drive the thing now, but the hold up will probably be with the Fusion as it’s coming from China.

Picked up the radio and LiPos this afternoon, then set about fitting the steering and overdrive servos on the Phoenix, then pulled the transmission out ready to temporarily fit an rtr brushed setup to get the servos powered up, centred and end points set.

All going well, i should have her moving under her own power tomorrow afternoon!

More goodies on the way, and i think i’m done with the spending on this one now. But then a rig like this deserves to be lavished on.

Was looking at the Boom Racing Pro Build wheels and came across the ‘Spectre’  and instantly ordered a set, and bit the bullet and bought the Incision series 2 light kit, with front/rear lights, plus rock lights and controller.

This afternoon was productive, spent a good amount of time temporarily fitting a motor and esc from a mates Reely Freeman and setting up the radio and both servos centred, trimmed and end points set.

Then set about having a little play about climbing the sofa and curbs outside, and i’m liking how this truck feels already!
