I have one on my XV01 and had to go with fairly extreme offset wheels to fill the wheel arches. I found that they seem to offer two widths when I was looking at them. They have a 190 mm series, which I think should fit onto a fairly stock Tamiya chassis, and some in a 200 mm width as well. The Subaru seems to come in both sizes so I’d guess you’ve got the wider 200 mm one?

It’s a strange one and possibly just the Quattro body being extra narrow? All of my other 190mm rally shells fit perfectly on the HPI?? I ended up ordering a Carisma body that has arrived and seems to fit over the wheels so all good now 👍🏻

Popular Post BigGinge
It’s all been a bit slow on the XV-01 build kit with us being in and out of the hospital with the new baby o er the last couple of weeks but I finally got time to drag my soldering kit out so should be able to sort the wiring tomorrow to get to having a functional chassis. Can then start thinking about the shell. I may have been looking on eBay today and accidentally bought this. Assuming it turns up and is as advertised I’ll need to sort out a new shell and some wheels for it as well as swapping out the brushless setup for a silver can. Should all be very much achievable within the £200 budget. The wife might not be entirely pleased with this purchase (I don’t really have anywhere to keep all the cars) but our eldest was wondering why I got to have a new RC car and he didn’t. So perhaps he might end up with one of them for Christmas. 5
Popular Post BigGinge
Made myself a little XT60 to 4mm plug cable for the battery connection and tidied up the motor wiring. That should be the chassis done now for this one. I may try a sneaky run, without the shell, in the street later if I get a chance when the kids are in bed.

Popular Post tomr
Got a lot on at the minute so not had any time for RC, managed to get an early finish today plus I had the house to myself, so thought I’d better get the Scooby body finished for the RS4 .
Popular Post tomr
Just finished a good long first run with RS4 👍🏻 A couple of changes/mods to make but overall it works brilliantly as a rally chassis. Desperately needs a chassis cover though 😂 Edited October 22, 2022 by tomr

Popular Post tomr
Got the Delta body cut out and mounted on the Strada chassis with a new set of wheels and tyres, it didn’t include any livery decals so I’ll have to see what decals I’ve got lying about for this one.
Popular Post Fat Freddy
Somehow managed to miss this thread. What a great idea! Got me to thinking🤔….. I have a TT02 that I’ve only ever really used a few times. Was supposed to be a speed runs project with a stupidly overpowered (for a relatively stock TT02), brushless system in it, but I’ve struggled to find anywhere long enough or flat enough for it to achieve its full potential. It only needs to hit a pea sized bit of gravel at 35mph and it’s cartwheeling down the road before it’s really got going. (I got it to 38mph but that was on a public road on a quiet Sunday morning). As you can see, (AA battery for scale), it has very little ground clearance in its current form. There’s a car park across road from me but it needs resurfacing and is covered in a generous dusting of gravel, so is useless for speed runs….. but ideal for bazzing about with a rally car?!? Apparently its relatively easy to get extra ground clearance by flipping the suspension arms. I’m thinking a set of rally wheels, a new shell, and swap back to the silver can and I’m good to go?
