Alty94
Hi guys, I've been looking over Facebook for a rc raffle page and can't really find a decent one where the person isn't making £200 plus per raffle ! So I was thinking of doing on myself obviously start off small then build it up from there. How many of you would be interested? And what would you like to see on there ? I'm not going to start of with krayton 8s and x maxx's 🤣, let me know of your ideas and any input would be great 👍
Tony
You didn't look hard enough, there are loads of it that they didn't make huge profit but be aware some of them are scam where they set up a page, collect money and does a runner. Repeat with different name, etc so be careful!
Lone-wolf
I signed up to one on FB for flying stuff but had one go and felt it was a scam and the guy running it was making a big wedge, wont do it again

Popular Post Kpowell911
Why is everything a bloody raffle now? 1:1 cars, designer clothes, watches, now RC Cars. Whats going on?! 3
Alex97
Most raffles are just money making schemes, charging £200 in tickets for a £150 item. So many shops are doing it and making a fair buck. As a raffle is a form of gambling it needs to comply with rules which many don't. Personally I stay well clear.

Oh How Original
3 hours ago, Guns said: Why is everything a bloody raffle now? 1:1 cars, designer clothes, watches, now RC Cars. Whats going on?! When it's brand new stuff then I suppose fair enough, even if it's still illegal. What bugs me is the guys who are trying to sell used battered clobber for about 4x the price of a new one, because they have 2000 tickets to sell

RCbutcher
Damn somebody should set up a website to host all these raffles lol. After reading that article even more so. If a website could get the gambling commission stuff sorted easier for members who are vetted it could be cool. It does sound bad that Facebook mums might be getting sucked into gambling their kids money away though. Facebook is the devil. To make money? I have no qualms with the people setting them up and making money, fair play to them. Theyre usually worded so anyone with a calculator can easily find out their chances to win, and the total amount of money the ‘owner’ is going to get once all tickets are sold. After that, they’re on their own. However, all I see on my social media is students who work part time on minimum wage (nothing wrong with that) buying multiple £3.50 tickets in the hope of winning a £800 Louis Vuitton Handbag or some Christian louboutin heels. You see them at the airport, win a car for £25. Suppose its easy pickings, excited people going on holiday. But at least thats all legal and regulated with a license. I cant say that for most the ones I see. i think theyll die of over saturations. One on my feed had to be pulled and refunded due to lack of ticket sales (Rolex Submariner, Pepsi) Edited February 14, 2021 by Guns

Cleon73
Interesting thread this, I've just signed up to hobbycomps, as it's recommended on here, I'm not much of a gambler, but hey, why not give it a go, free Lunchy, you can't scoff at that 🤣, plus roughly added the ticket prices up on one of the items, seems like they're only making the normal sales cost of the item. I'm in 👍🤣
Jumper
its like entering the lottery but you have a better chance of winning, its still gambling. Pretty pointless as you will get nothing in return and lose out in the long run. Unless you win 1st time and never enter again.
fluffy
I'm on a Facebook page called Vale RC and they do raffles every so often, they don't seem to make a massive profit out of it, probably only a few quid,I've had some good wins over the last year, the most recent being a Tamiya TT02 and a Typhon 6s with batteries, charger and chassis plate, I worked it out the other day and the money I spent on raffles I could have bought the Typhon but I have had around 10 cars, 2 boats, tools, carry case and a few other bits and bobs
