For the record. Im not some conspiracy theorist. Covid 19 is a very real and serious threat to the worlds population. I am also withholding major criticism for the Government. Theres no rulebook for this. Nobody knows the correct way to combat this. However, I think we need to accept that whatever were doing isnt the answer, so why do we keep attempting variations of it?

I think some people are too set in there ways, close mindedness often doesn't help in these situations either.

At least some of us are trying to move forward though

The Government ignored all it's own pandemic recommendations. There was a national test a few years back on how the UK might deal with a pandemic. The company I used to work for was involved in it. The Government willfully ignored all the recommendations. There is a way to deal with this, they just aren't doing it.

It won't do any good in my opinion, that actually reminds me of a colleague, she'd never had flu in her life, she got to 50 and the doctors were very very insistent that she had to have a flu jab, so after a few letters, she had one (this is going back about 5-6 years) she said she was in bed ill for over a month and gets flu once a year now.

Not saying there is some big conspiracy, but there is evidence of something else going on.

Not least since these vaccines appeared.

So, it takes them what, 14 months to sort a vaccine, we get a "new strain" and a new vaccine is figured out in a couple of weeks.

There is no logic to this "virus" I have been in contact with many people who later tested positive (yes I did immediately self isolate until they got test results)

I have probably met around 5,000 people in my job face to face in the last year (128 today alone) many of them probably had it without symptoms.

Yet you can have someone who stays home, wears a mask even to drive the car for necessary travel and they catch it.

I've said it before but I am going to continue applying logic and safety to what I do and how I think about it.

I'll stay home, if they want to deliver me a free Chinese take away every night

Im very curious. What is the way to deal with it? Genuinely interested in some knowledge on this subject as Ive no idea!? Thanks

The first problem was the Government was told to stockpile PPE and they didn't. The people I know working in hospitals at the time had to reuse single use PPE for days, if not weeks. The next was really about containment. They left the airports open and travel unrestricted, quarantine wasn't enforced for incoming travellers, masks were not mandated and only became law recently but unlike other countries, there's no standard like N95 still. They didn't prosecute people for breaking lockdown or moving from one tier to another (Jacob Rees Moog did exactly this) and then they did that eating out idiocy and churches are still exempt. Anyone driving goods off the ferry should have got a test immediately before moving on.  All they had to do was enforce what was advised - essentially what they are doing now - back in March along with banning any public gathering with no exceptions. They still aren't testing people coming in transporting goods. This was all advised to the Government and much of it was a result of various national exercises performed across the emergency services over the years. The only unknown is what virus it would be.
