It's possible that motor is a bit much for the ESC in your set up.

That motor is aimed at boats it says.

Have you got a regular 540 sized brushed motor for testing purposes?

This engine is the equivalent of a graupner speed 500 E.

It is interesting that sometimes when it restarts immediately, it is in limp mode, and sometimes it enters after a while. When I turn off the esc and wait a few minutes and turn it on again, it's okay for some time.

Unfortunately at the moment I do not have 540 for checking.

These new 1060s are crap. They all go into limp. There's loads of posts and videos on Yt about it.
Even a fix with a capacitor kit.

Mine did it with a stock 540 tamiya and both a new Lipo and a nimh.

Hmmm, I wasn't aware of the above.
I guess it's time to buy a 1080 then, because they are all good, solid and very reliable.
Also programmable.
Worth the money.
I'd already binned the box or else I'd have sent mine back.
Tried it with a sport tuned and a stock silver can 540, an absima ab3.4 buggy and a lunchbox, and the two batteries.

It's been a while since I used a 1060 tbh, I always go 1080 for brushed now, as it's the best one you can buy in my opinion.
