ChrisT
The Vanquish (Item 58076) is a legendary buggy from our R/C back catalogue, and now makes a much-anticipated return as a re-issue named the VQS, with tweaks to bring it into the modern day. We have saved owners some work, too, with a pre-cut and pre-painted body that means you’ll be able to get driving that little bit quicker! This is a 1/10 scale R/C model assembly kit. The classic form of the buggy is captured in lightweight and durable polycarbonate, pre-painted and cut, with holes already made. Stickers are based upon those in the original, and just require application to complete the body. A bathtub chassis provides a really solid base for the model that lets you enjoy thrilling off-road rides without undue worry. Highly rigid aluminium front uprights and efficient universal shafts are designs inherited from the 2011 reissue of the Avante (Item 58489). The smooth drivetrain employs the planetary gear differential units from the original Avante. ESC & Type 540 motor included Source: Modelsport. ChrisT
Official pics and price released. Looks like they've had to drop the name 'Vanquish' as it's now a VQS. with a £349 price tag
D4v3
👍It's always been a nice looking buggy, but why the name change, anyone know?

There's no definitive/official answer to that question, but there is some speculation it could be something to do with Aston Martin or Vanquish products. Either way, I suspect a copyright issue using the name Vanquish.
bertberr
At 349 the name is the least of my concerns... shame as I had my eye on this one for a while now, but no way is this almost two terra scorchers.

Couldn't agree more. I was expecting mid to high 200's. I mean, Modelsport had the Egress for sale at one point for 349 and you get a lot more in the terms of hop ups and fancy stuff.
bertberr
Yeah, the price of this and the 2011 Avante have me thinking that either Tamiya have lost their mind, or they're simply just cashing in on Covid big time, and the fact that there's a lot of people with surplus cash and nowhere to go/little to do with all their extra spare time. It's for this reason that I'm concentrating more on vintage resto's now.
