Gaz!
Nice looking rig, spoilt only by crappy jeep (ish) looking shell. but honestly, I don’t like to comment on crawlers and such much now as there are far too many more people who know everything. Good on them. my opinion is this, until something comes along that completely blows the Trx4 out the water, I’ll stick with what i have and extremely happy with. micro crawling is a big positive for me though, can’t beat having a decent layout on a pallet lol.

I once had to put a starter motor in one of these... held in by two bolts, one metric, the other imperial, both different sizes and different threads. The original starter motor was missing entirely and I got the “new” one from a breaker, without the necessary bolts. Took f’ing ages to figure out why I couldn’t fit the ******* in there. British Leyland eh? Can’t understand where it all went wrong..........

It’s definitely decent truck I’m pleased I bought it,I’ve not had any problems with it so far (about 20 hours run time ) . it needs the usual things doing like adding weight upfront ,tyres etc A few people have had the pin fall out of the front cvd ,not had that problem myself but sounds like the pin On a few cvd’s might have been a mm or 2 too short From the factory? Theres a couple of Absima owners groups on facebook that’ll give you some good feedback .👍

m4inbrain
Well.. Neighbour and i are ordering one each as well. It looks decent enough, the Sendero is nowhere in stock, and there's not much around at this price point that I'd consider worlds better. We stick to blue and orange though, not 100% sure why the grey and olive one only have window stickers rather than clear windows like the blue and orange one. Don't think you can go wrong with this one, judging by the videos I watched.

It’s the Matt finish on the grey and olive body’s that make the windows look frosted 👍

In all videos i watched where there's a grey or olive one, the window looks exactly like that. edit: nevermind i'm stupid, only now understanding what you mean. Well.. They should've put on window protectors or something, that looks stupid. I'd prefer grey over blue/orange, but not with these windows. Do like the looks though, already have a 1080 and Crawlmaster Pro sitting here ready to go, plus a new radio. And, probably, my Pitbull Rock Beasts too, so far all the videos i've seen, the tyres seem to be pretty awful? Yeah I swapped the wheels and tyres out pretty quick they’ve got a short course Wheel type Set up ,where the inside diameter is larger than the outside . Ive got the grey version .......frosted windows FTW 😂
m4inbrain
Nah, i'm planning for a cheap and nasty interior, no need to do that if i can't see it. We'll see where i'll go with it, just need something to faff around with in winter, this seems decent value.
tomr
If you really want the grey or olive I have seen people in the Facebook Sherpa groups clean the frost of the windows pretty easily. Not sure what they used but one even took the full Matt finish off the body. Nah, i'm not that bothered with a blue body to be honest. Not my first choice, but still decent. Got enough work to do on it, cba faffing around with alcohol wiping the windows clean or whatever too. As a sidenote, how big is the receiver tray - is there, lets say, space for a normal receiver and a smaller one? Or is it close to flush with a single receiver? Would be nice - the radio i wanna use doesn't have "big channel receivers", so it's using a 4ch receiver with a 4ch expansion.. thingie, to make it 8ch. But, of course, it's gotta fit in the receiverbox.

tomr
Measurements are from the inside walls of the box so you exactly how much room you have to play with 👍 45mm length 28mm wide 28mm deep First time I’ve looked in RX box ,looks like the receiver and light kit are a 2in1 unit Edited September 30, 2020 by tomr
m4inbrain
Cheers pal, doesn't look like my shiny radio is gonna fit, that's pretty tight. Harumph. edit: do you, by chance, know what weight the shock oil is? In some videos, or in some situation, it looks a little "stiff legged", i wonder if that's due to the internal springs or if the oil is a bit too heavy for my liking.
