Cheap buggy

Recommended Posts

1/10th electric

Not sure on price, less than a £100?

Presuming coming without ESC/motor

But willing to pay more for something better.

Availability of spare parts important

Probably in Absima AB3.4/FTX Vantage territory there. Around the right price point, good models with both 1st party and aftermarket parts support.

You're definitely in "Brushed" money, which is no bad thing, Brushless can be a bit much for kids.

I have a ready to run Subotech storm buggy, i upgraded the shocks to oil shocks and comes with TX plus 2 1500mah packs, its a tough buggy, can do posted £45 might take a day or so to get a decent box to pack it in, think its 1/12 scale

Thinking this may be the way to go, anyone had any experience of them?

Seen a few negative comments elsewhere

For the money,  and the cost of the spares, I think the Vantage is fantastic.

You said that this is going to be for your children - they are more than likely going to crash and bash whatever you buy them, which is going to lead to a breakage or three. Spares on Modelsport are cheap as chips.
Also the brushed version seems quite slow, but if your children are relatively young/new to RC then this slow speed might not be a bad thing
