Graupner file for bankruptcy

Fly In My Soup

Graupner.... A name many a folk remember from the early days of rc....

graupner.jpg

Unfortunately... During their timely press release... The German based company announced the closure of its kirchheim operations along with a filing for bankruptcy.... Following on from robbe who met the same fate a few years ago...

Some of the reasons cited was growing competition from Asia & High operational costs for the krichheim site....

The name graupner may still live on with its parent company, graupner Co ltd/ SJ.... based near Seoul, making core components and electronics.... But the graupner of old... The German based legend that stood the test of time... Despite weathering the storm of past financial difficulties.... Will cease to be.

Fims.

I remember these guys, sad. :( I'm sure their tech will be bought out under another name/brand.

Sad, bloody sad!

In this day when drones and RC aircraft are more common than ever this happens!

Dumped my MC-20 a while ago, but kept the wonderful joysticks!

So now I battle with my FRSky!

My old 2.4 MHz Graupner gear failed completely, by the way!

Have a great day, all, and salute all old Graupner employees!

Blimey, that is a name that has been around for pretty much my whole RC hobby time,

such a shame to hear this new. Good luck to all the Graupner employees.

Is this for all of Graupner or just kirchheim? I want to buy some stuff from Graupnerusa but afraid I won't get what I pay for.

Well.... That's the question....

The kricheim facility is gone... Finito....

As for the rest..... Well.... They where already bought out by SJ some years back.... So I imagine a gradual migration of production from the west to the east will inevitably occur....

As to wether they abandon the USA market... I doubt it very much.... Its probably there biggest cash cow
