Rover Man
Looks nice but think of the cost if you have another bearing spin. It wont melt but will remove enough alloy to make it more or less scrap. Id just replace with stock housings and better bearings. even then you will need to keep an eye on the bearings
.AJ.
True, the easy access panel for the pinion bearings on the IRC case is a nice touch though, so it would be a lot easy to keep an eye on the condition of the bearings
(-:AD:-)
Wow didn't realise they did them. Very good design. Looks lovely!
.AJ.
I'm sold on the IRC case, the larger pinion and diff bearings, plus the easy access to the pinion have sold it to me, just need to raid the piggy bank now
supersavage
That case looks great and while not cheap I think it'll be worth every penny especially with the quick access to the pinion.
Oh How Original
Given how good quality I-RC stuff is and how well Rob backs up his products, that's a nice bit of kit at a fair price. RM has a point, but a better quality bearing should help.
NG15
I've never understood the quick access pinion thing? I've never needed to acces my pinion quickly and let's be serious it doesn't take long to take the diff apart anyway.

On the basis that prevention is better than fixing things, if you can get to it quickly and easily, you'll check it. No one wants a failure, everyone likes things to be as easy as possible, that's why this kind of component exists... TBH, I've never had a problem with the stocker but I understand why people inc AJ like this kind of part... Does that help you with the rationalle?

.AJ.
Just needs a set of alloy arms now
Rover Man
You dont need alloy arms, but want is a different thing lol. Does the side panel of the diff housing come of without removing any thing else ???
.AJ.
Alloy arms are going nowhere near this lol, the cover isn't quite as straight forward as it looks to get off, the front pin brace is in the way of 1 screw, I would whip the whole gearbox off the chassis (6 screws) and then take the brace off to gain access, it's still a lot quicker than striping out the diff the conventional way
mond
Is it just a giant 8ight diff housing? Looks really similar apart from where the pinion sits, which is slightly more to the side. Edited August 16, 2016 by mond
.AJ.
Pretty much, the 5ive is a scaled up version of the 8ight, just like the Ten is scaled down
.AJ.
All ready for this weekends meet up...... I have also given the front diff a service and fitted the other pair of FLM cups I had, she is now running 30/100/10

.AJ.
I can't bring myself to use wood screws on a RC, it reminds me of my mates shed of a Hyper that was held together with cable ties and wood screws
