Honestly, the £700 isnt the issue, my other hobby is Marvel Comics, and my last purchase few weeks ago was well into the 5 figures. But I know where I stand with that. The market could well change, but I know where I stand with the market and know the value. I dare say if I ever Come to sell it Id make a profit, I got 5x my original investment on the last one I bought in 2008 when I sold it in 2012, only issue is if I had it now Id have made 10x my money. Its not about the money, same with the Cosworth, I just want it, but Im alot happier dropping £700 on a boxed model if its going to at leqst maintain its value.

Tamiya investments, Ive no idea about.

Whats this?

is that a genuine Tamiya shell? All finished etc?

Yep, that's an original. The WRC was made as a kit and expert build, it will come with tinted windows as stickers though.

Just so happens I made one of them out of genuine decals and a TBG shell.

I'm now looking at removing the tints.

Isnt that really cheap for a Cossie shell? Wish id saw this before haha

It's a complete car, so IMO it's a pretty good price. Although it isn't the cossie shell as such, it's the WRC shell.

Surely the shell alone is worth the £160 then? Hmmm

I wouldn't value the WRC shell at 160, A Michelin Pilot shell, decals and wing parts in the box set generally sell for around 120 - 160.

There is one on ebay for 395 but that's very very optomistic.

£200 tops.

Don’t take it personally but they are two different cossies one is a tt01 the other is a ta01

Yea I know that, one is an original from 1996 and one is an XBS RTR. The chassis dont bother me. i dont even run my RCs, most of them dont even have electrics in, theyre on shelves in my Office. I just want a few Cossie’s, and buying this TT01 will give me a cheap addition. As it stands, its looking very expensive for me considering they just sit on a shelf:

theres nearly £2k, finding a brand new Ford Escort WRC for £159 has made it seem more possible lol

What paint to use when paint solid tamiya shell the sort you pain on the outside

For a ABS body Tamiya TS range of paint or just use Halfords car paint ?

As above. Tamiya TS paint is thinner, takes a bit longer to go off and more likely to run.

Halfords paint is thicker, dries quicker but too much paint can hide fine detail.

So back to this:

http://www.radiocontrolledshop.co.uk/Tamiya-XBS-Escort-Cosworth-Rally-TT-01

is it literally a factory built TT01 kit with esc/motor/radio and a pre finished shell? Its not like a Tamiya QD model? Would I be able to tell it apart from my other TT01s?

Going to have to take a break from the hobby for a bit, and likely the forum too.

Thanks all - it has been a privilege.

Happy Tamiya-ing!

Streamlined is another way of being cheap on stuff so watered down version of the kit version could be the wheels it electrics etc

Didnt think it got more watered down than a TT01e? I wont even run it to be honest, just want the shell. I can drop it on a kit form TT01E chassis if needbe, but dont think its any different?
