I know I am new to this website but I always like to make this post to see what kind of people are involved in the hobby and also what working background you come from.

So just post who you are, what you do and why you got involved in the hobby/sport.

I'll start:

I'm Dan and I'm 23. I work as a Design Engineer specialising in Fire Protection designing industrial fire safety safety systems on a daily basis. I also work as a creative designer and have done graphical interface design on a few mobile applications of more recent times.

I have come back to RC as my interest has again been tweaked by my acquisition of new cars to play with. I'm one of those people who has many hobbies that I flitter between and I just love tinkering and engineering things.

Catalin, 31. Worked in the Romanian army for 3 years then worked for 5 years as a field inspector/surveyor for petrol products. When my wife got a job offer as a nurse in UK we never looked back, packed and moved... Currently baby sitting my 4 year old beautiful daughter and in September when she goes to school I better find a job for me cause I have too much spare time and the crazy addiction to spend money on RC. And we are not gypsies by the way :shockingscary:

I'm Ash, I'm 30 and I'm a construction manager for a global design and build firm. I'm currently working on a project in Doha for the Qatari royal family. This means I spend a lot of time travelling between London and Doha which is sort of fun!

I'm the proud dad of my beautiful little girl, 2, and we are expecting our second in May.

When I'm not travelling for work, I'm busy with my family and trying to squeeze in some time for my RCs. Life is pretty hectic but I wouldn't change it for the world.

Ken, 33 year old, proud father of 2, IT Manager for a printing company in Cumbria. Officially branded a geek by both friends and family the majority of my life is spent fixing/playing on/using PC's or laptops.

Wanted to get into RC when I was about 8 or 9, I remember seeing the Tamiya kits in a model shop where we used to live but they were a long way out of my price range. A colleague had an electric RC truck for sale on eBay just before christmas, I had a little blast on that and liberated it from him for the princely sum of

I'm Marcus, 34 and married for 14 years now (well she said yes!)

I work for a publishing company although my background/training is in animal care. Got into RC in 2007 when I bought a Lunchbox after wanting one as a kid. Never got one as a kid and didn't know it was called Vanessa's lunch box either, which is a bit freaky as that's my wifes name :D

hi, im gaz, 36 and have 3 wonderful children, jake, 5, lucy, 4 and kimberley at 15 months.

left scholl and went on to do 3 1/2 years as a motor vehicle technician, got bored with that at 21 and got my class1 hgv license and flitted between the 2 types since, my last job was in a local family run garage where i got my mot testing papers and was testing for the last 3 years until october 2011.

i left due to ill health, my slender figure didn`t help but was suffering with pain in my back, knees and ankles...after various hospital visits and test for more or less everything i thought was possible i was finally diagnosed with my mechanical joints wearing out due to the careers i had taken (again my weight doesn`t help).

so spend my days dosed up on pain killers tinkering with r/c, even a day out with the r/c leaves me ruined the next day now.....

i also make the odd custom, r/c steelwork for members of the various forums i frequent.

been doing r/c for the past 6 years and its mainly been electric with a couple of nitros in there, at the moment, im into "scale" off-roaders due to the fact they dont break as often and there slow :xd: :xd:

had a fair few and varied list of r/c too....

I'm Matt, will be 16 in September so obviously I have to go to school :xd:

Interested in anything which requires tinkering with and some logical, mathematical thinking  (Yes, I want to do a maths related job when I am older)

Got into RC quite a while ago after my dad got a baja, but after my share of RC's I kinda packed it in as I only have a paper round for income :whistling:

Still help out on the forums when I can :hahadance:

Mark, 42, married with 2 kids, mechanical engineer and have worked on everything from Challenger tanks to Apache helicopters but currently designing and building test gear for the aircraft industry. Been into RC for over 30 years and have around 15 planes, 2 boats and 3 trucks. Fly planes in the summer and trucks in the winter with the boats anytime and anywhere I can run them. Would like my kids to get into RC but they spend most of their time in a 'virtual' world!

BTW, oodboo you're a top man!

Now, Im Ben 29 and a proud father of 5 :xd::yawn:

Been in the Motor trade most of my career,Panel beater primerryly, but also done alot of practical trades too within the building/maintanance industry.

Currently working 3 roles in one company and very tired for it lol.

Been an RC nut since about 7yr old when a mate got a Tamiya Cossie with a schumacher race motor in it, ive been hooked ever since, and am now a nitro fan boy..

Im hoping my boys will get a real love for the hobby and my girls too, hopefully..

then they too can follow on the tradition of spilling fuel on the worktops :sweatdrop:

Names Mark or Frog to my mates, i'm 27 and live with my parents in Penzance, west cornwall. I'm a trained mechanic, but got out of the trade about 5 yrs ago as the money wasn't too good. I've done two years putting up marquees (huge fun and pay, rarely working on the same site for more than 3 days straight). I'm currently a van driver for a specialist food company (Cetlic Fish and Game) and am one of those people that truly love their job. Always been into rcs of all kinds, scale boats, off road, and lorries and fast offroad stuff, especially now i'm old enough to afford and know about them.

I'm Richard, 30.

I'm a Principal Teacher in a primary school.

Got into RC because I walked into ModelZone one day and thought that an MTA4 S28 would be a better pass time that golf, which I can't play any more because I have a busted knee. Bought it there and then and haven't looked back.

Im Barry - or longdong to my mates, just turned 30 :( dog trainer par excellence, but got sick of trying to keep my mouth shut with people who can't even look after themself never mind a dependant animal, and trying to keep my hands off people who blatantly mistreat there K9's !

Just finished studying mechanical engineering at college as being self employed these days is a quick way to end the long road of life as you will work yourself into a grave with nothing to show for it, so decided - through gritted teeth (after owning a few businesses) that I would go back to being under someone else's control, and back to regular pay.

My passions and hobbies are firstly my two dogs, I have a five year old Doberman and a ten year old staff collie cross, they drive me insane, but at the same time keep me sane. Out of the house hobbies are kickboxing (my passion in life) also Krav Maga and lifting weights and trying to keep fit which isn't easy as I smashed my knee when i was 18 and had to have the cartlielge removed so knee pain is very frequent for me, so is dislocation of the knee. Also suffer from severe migraines, can have 5 in a week easily and they can last anywhere from a few hours to a week at a time..but my motto is "there's people a lot worse than me out there"

Got into rc when a guy on a car forum I know was selling his eb4 s2 nitro about 6 years ago, hadn't owned a rc since i was about ten so saw it - liked it - bought it, and not looked back since.
