Hi Guys,

Just thought I would post some pics of my new Ansmann X8e buggy.

This purchase was inspired by the guys on the forum who offered me sound and useful information, thanks again. I hope I've done the kit justice :)

My Kit setup was as follows...

  • Ansmann Racing X8e Buggy Kit
  • Ansmann Racing W5 2.4GHz Combo
  • Alturn USA High Performance Race Servo (High Speed)
  • Sirius 1512 Motor 2650kv (4 Pole)
  • XERUN Competition RC Car Brushless Motor 150A ESC
  • Turnigy nano-tech A-SPEC 6600mah 2S 65~130C Hardcase Lipo Pack (x2)
  • Ansmann Racing 1:8 Extreme Series Buggy Wing Downforce 2 (Black)
  • Ansmann Racing Buggy Tyre and Rim Set Street Black (x2)
  • Nanda Racing 1:8th Nanda Block Tyres On Black Dish Wheel (x2)
  • Overlander Lipo Battery Balance Charger AC/DC RC-6S 80 watt
  • Overlander Lipo Safe Sack
  • Logic RC XT60 Connector Set with Heat Shrink 2 pairs

All in all the kit took me about 4 days to put together but my time was split with helping the kids build their new lego kits and watching re-runs of Bond. I love Christmas :)

The only real problem I had to overcome was that one of the LiPo's was to big to fit in the cradle on the side with the motor, its spindle stuck out slightly to far so had to mount the LiPo further up.

I did intend to put together a build log but I found I was to excited and forgot...sorry. These are all I have to offer right now....

Model completed just before the stickers were added.

Inside the model, the front suspension arms.

Rear suspension and the LiPo on the right mounted slighlty higher.

The Hobbywing ESC.

The Sirius 1512 mounted and just next to it the padding I added to pack the battery and move out the way of the shaft.

The overhead view, most of the components you can see just below the wire excess (Yes I know I need to trim that down, looks very messy).

Overview of the LiPo's under the wiring and series cable.

The completed model, loving the Nanda tires that were recommended.

Yes the wiring is a mess, really need to sort that. Everything I bought seem to come up with long cables :)

The paint I used was Tamiya Color Translucent Red Polycarbonate (PS-37), used it before love the finish it gives.

.A.J. yes well spotted it is an Xerun SCT Pro.

Hating the crap british weather, as soon as it stops raining I'll put in some runs and see if I can create some videos.

Managed to get another 20 mins run time in today, I can certainly confirm the performance of this car is very impressive. Coming from a Nitro background I was sceptical but the power really is amazing.

Had about 30 mins total running so far and havn't had to charge the batteries anymore, which is also impressive :)

Would certainly recommend this setup to anybody.

Still enjoying it, really is great fun, me and my boy take it out as often as we can, been getting lots of interest from curious people wondering how it can go so fast :) Even had a chase by a pack of dogs:)
