  1. I recently had to use Core RC White over PS1 Tamiya white. Truth be told, the Core paint was fine
  2. Im really glad its working for you. My experience was different but fair play. Maybe you can gear up! Hows the performance
  3. Id just tie it up to be safe rather than cut it
  4. Best present ever. Her name is Olivia
  5. Dont see why not, we got the last one and can get the bodyshells still?
  6. Doesnt fit that shell. Its a Proline F150 Raptor. If Im bashing hard I run the stock shell
  7. I think an XRT with X Maxx tyres would be the best bet!
  8. Starting to feel 2WD Rcs are not for me. They just dont ‘bash’. Im talking about my BBX & Astute 2022. I just cant seem to dial them in to be ‘useable’ compared to 4wd.  I appreciate I maybe over powered, but I had this issue with my Rustler/Stampede VXL. Maybe sell my Astute 2022 & BBX for a Hot Shot or a Top Force EVO? BBX looks so cool though! Hmm

    1. Lone-wolf

      Lone-wolf

They do and they dont, RWD needs more input from driver and locked diff helps no end, my Blizter beetle is pretty good RWD with locked diff, shame im gonna end up selling it

always found 2wd twitchy as hell and constant throttle control needed etc if on looser terrain, i grew up with it and love it but i can see why its not every ones cup of tea, i had the corally triton converted to brushless out in the snow a while back and it was insane just trying to get it to go in a straight line, i had a big grin on my face the whole time though 😛

  9. The XRT? See what you think:
  10. Yes, but the Wide Kit came first. I wonder how Traxxas planned this. Did they make the WideKit and think hmm, lets make an LCG XMaxx or was the XRT the plan all along?
  11. Yes theyre are negatives. Steering is worse and as you said you ideally need a better servo. I run Dmond 60kg ones in both my Xmaxx & XRT. You dont need the Wide Kit, and to be honest its expensive for what it is. Those shells are from Russia, so obviously difficult to get hold of now since the war. They’re basically made out of a wheelie bin. Checkthe Youtube Videos
  12. Now I wish Id bought the Tamico Edition! Looks so much fun!
  13. The cheap one was brilliant just had a Russian Unbreakable shell which Id recommend. Saves you trashing a £100 shell every run. #5 my current one just looks amazing to me. Shocks are standard, but it has the WideMaxx kit BUT! The wheels on it arent as wide as the stock wheels, so its not super wide.
  14. Heres some pics: #1 Original 6S Edition #2 is the First 8S X Maxx #3 The cheap second hand one with an unbreakable bodyshell #4, highly modified - too powerful really: #5 My Current one with WideMaxx kit The XRT:
  15. Genuinely heard amazing returns from that
  16. I bought a new 6S one (#1) when they originally came out. Then I bought a brand new 8S (#2) when that was released. I then found a cheap bargain used 8S one (#3). I kept them both, then sold them both as briefly got into 1/5th Scale Petrol. I then bought another used mint condition one (#4) and spent a fortune on it with a big motor etc. I had to sell that along with all my RCs when I got divorced in 2019. Then in 2021 I decided to get back into the hobby and got Xmaxx (#5). Im 2022 I picked up the newly released XRT 🙂
  17. Try 243, but I ended up going with Red Locktite in the end
  18. Unfortunately if you make the hobby about investments, it becomes less of a hobby. My Dad is a comic collector. He has some since a kid. In his mind, theyre comic books he loves, and he reads. Fortunately, and we are very lucky that most of them have sky rocketed to the point he sold some, paid his mortgage off and retired my Mum early, and we fly to New York for Comic Cons every year. But unfortunately, its turned his hobby into a bit of a job. He hates the value. He would rather they were all 10p each so he could own them. Some of his comics are too valuable to read, and he cant afford to buy some of the ones he would like as theyre worth too much. Its also turned the market a bit weird, because people now think ALL comics are rare, so people just over price what they have even though its worth nothing. Imagine people seeing an original Tamiya Avante is worth over a grand, so that means they think their used battered TT02 is worth £1000+ because its a Tamiya. Its a double edged sword when a hobby becomes valueable and worthy of investing in, chances are, your enjoyment will drop

  20. Im not sure there is an ‘investment’ chance in RC. The old original Tamiya’s are mega money, so. Not something you can buy into, and the 40th & 45th Anniversary models arent worth much more than they cost. A 45th was £275 and two years later, theyre going for £350-400 with a fair amount for sale. The 50th maybe but Im expecting it to be hard to get. Youve then got the risk that Tamiya Re Releases it. I know people say a ReRe doesnt affect value, but if youve got a mint 959, with parts difficult to get, and the 50th Anniversary is a 959 ReRe has your investment dropped? Youre better off just scouring classifieds and chancing it. Ive has my best bargains via Facebook marketplace. Yet it’s probably also the place where the most nonsense is. If something is ‘made’ to be an investment item, chances are it wont be. It has to be organic. Look at the RC10CC for example.. Rather than investment, I look at what holds money and is easy to sell on. Its why I dont buy Banggood/WLToys stuff. Its probably brilliant, but IMO its dead money.
  21. Just monitor it. Just watch temps Id still say youre too high but just be really careful. Id expect you to run into heat issues, especially running 8S on a 6S Motor
  22. Ive never had an issue with the pin method on 5x X Maxxs and 1X XRT. I genuinely really like the stock motor set up.
  23. Run only on 6S, the motor isnt rated for 8s anyway. Although people do run 8s in something like an Infraction. I dont know why Hobbywing sell this as a combo in the first place if the motor is only 6s rated. But, Gear down similar to the what the original 6S Maxx was geared as as that had a 1600kv motor. Its a strange choice of motor to upgrade to to be honest. Most people go for the 58 series motor, as the 49 series are a more over powered 8th scale motor than a large scale motor. And if you’re spending all that money on a mount, people usually drop to a a LOWER kv motor and jump to mod 1.5 gearing. What are you wanting to achieve changing the motor by the way?
  24. Thats not a Max 6 is it? Mine lasted less 5 minutes with that motor, had to get a Max 5. I also think you’re massively over geared, as that motor is 450kv more than stock. Id be very careful
