  1. Shame about the Grand Prix, my favourite track too, but safety first.

Great to see George and Lando taking the fight to the big boys!

same alex can hardly call following a pace car a race lets be honest 😞

still better result than deaths way too dicey in that weather

Better ethey abandoned the race than gave points out for sitting behind a safety car for 2 laps. By engineering a fake race, and calling a result...the fans won;t get anything back and the circus rolls on to the next weekend. a 'race' happened, and thats that.

Sadldy, the 'safety' considerations didn;t extend to qualifying, when they held the cars for bad weather...then went ahead with the session despite no improvement to the weather, and that resulted in Lando in the wall at speed.  Or listening to Perez sending radio messages to say 'the tracks better' to try and get a race to happen. Was 'better' for Verstappen...at the front, he's the only guy that can see a thing!

While it's great for George to be on the podium..shame everyone knows he absolutely didn't earn it the way it's meant to be done. I also REALLY hope that the points issued here do not have a material effect on the outcome of the championship. As that would be a real kicker

A shame it ended up like it did, at Spa back in 2019 I  was a couple of grandstands down from where  Anthoine Hubert lost his life in the F2 support race, so you can understand why the organisers were really playing safe. Its a shame about the 2 lap circus as I honestly believe George would have gone full Verstappen on Verstappen on the first few corners as he absolutely nothing to lose and Max had everything to lose before the Williams slid down the order.

Spa really is different - middle of nowhere really, you walk from your campsite down B roads to the track and its incredible just how elevated it is - makes Brands Hatch look flat! The GP has quite a Le Mans vibe, very friendly and loads of Belgians with as many cans of beer as they can smuggle in 😁 I’d recommend it before it gets wiped off the calendar as too archaic and dangerous. (You did get an excellent pitwalk about on the general entrance ticket on Thursday and they opened the track after the race so I've walked Eau Rouge!).
