    New: Redcat Sixtyfour Lowrider RTR

The Redcat SixtyFour is a fully functional hopping Lowrider that is based off of a 1964 Chevrolet Impala SS 2-door hardtop and is ready-to-run, complete with a six channel radio, battery and charger!

The stunning details of the full size 1964 Chevrolet Impala SS have been re-created with scale accuracy. The Impala SS badging can be found on both the exterior, and interior of this beautiful vehicle. Twenty three individual injection molded parts are used to create the body’s chrome accessories. Optional LED lights are available for night time cruising. Clear windows feature high quality chrome foil trim to complete the ultra-realistic appearance. The attention to detail continues below the body, with the realistic looking chassis frame, 14” scale wheels, whitewall tires, faux transmission and functional solid rear axle with removable differential cover.

Redcat says the SixtyFour is designed for slow cruising and performing tricks that you can only do with special hydraulically actuated suspensions. Using specialty servos and precision weight bias, it replicates the driving style and overall look of a full sized lowrider / hopper.

The model includes the new LR6X six channel 2.4GHz radio system designed with lowrider style switches adding to the authentic look and feel of the vehicle. This radio has been fitted specifically for use with RC lowriders and includes many buttons, levers and switches to drive the SixtyFour, as well as perform realistic hopping & lowrider tricks. The radio includes individual switches for each of the 3 height adjustment servos, momentary switches for raising either the front or rear to max ride height / hopping and momentary buttons for lowering either the front or rear to minimum ride height. The levers and switches are similar to those found on an authentic full sized hopper control unit. This allows the SixtyFour driver to experience what it’s like to actually operate a full size hydraulically controlled hopping lowrider.

    Features:

    • SixtyFour: Fully Functional Hopping Lowrider
    • Body: Officially Licensed 1964 Chevrolet Impala SS w/ 23 Individual Chrome Plated Molded Parts
    • Motor/ESC: Brushed Motor & ESC
    • Servos: 4 total. 25KG Rear Axle Servos (2pcs), High Speed REEFS RC Hopping Servo (1pc), Steering Servo (1pc)

Redcat still have no UK supplier and the European one is useless, oh and if you try buy stuff direct from them in America the shipping is horrendous, £60 for a parts order..........

I thought it was April 1st for a moment.  Did you see the close ups of the chromed plastic bits like wing mirrors etc? I've seen better finishing on my lads 2 quid hot wheels cars.

    600 USD... really?

I guess a lot of R&D went into it so the price is steep, there really isn't anything else like it, so it's essentially brand new, lots of R&D involved.

Not defending it, I think it's a lot and I've no interest in it I think it's daft.

You'll use the hopping thing for a few minutes to get some videos and pictures, then probably never use it again

#1 for Christmas wish list... Then #1 on the second hand market

It doesn't offer nowhere near enough (to me) to justify a $600 price tag. For that kind of money i'd expect at the very least a fully formed interior.

The actuation of the front wheels also looks stupid, the way they go "knock kneed". Nah.. Looks cool as a piece in the shelf in the living room, but in that case i'll go with a die cast model which is more detailed and costs a quarter.

This is really cool, great video, new original idea. Redcat have nailed it. The industry needs this kind of innovation, or we'll be playing with scale crawlers forever!

Agreed. Fair play to Redcat, they've done something I've certainly not seen before and it looks cool as hell.

New concepts seem to get a lot of stick in this community. I guess that's why Tamiya are still killing it selling kits first released in the 80s.

Ha! I like it! Is that where your love of Turok came from?

Turok 2: Seeds of Evil, perhaps?

I think turok 1 was better  as i played it first.  I remember pre ordering turok 2  it was £115   Funny story with T1  i rented it for a week and never finished it.  but i couldn't find a copy to buy  so ended up getting T2 and finished it a couple of times.  I played T1 many times but other things just kept popping up and getting in the way  and i only managed to finish it about a year ago.

No shame in that, it took me 20 years to complete Super Mario 64!

You're probably already aware, but you can buy Turok 1 & 2 remastered on the Switch for cheap.

i finished mario 64  withing a few months  as the only other game i was playing really at the time was goldeneye.  if i remember correct the worst part of mario 64 for me was the carpet ride.   I got T1 for the switch as it was on sale  im just waiting for T2 to drop in price then i will get it.

the servo noise is bad it really spoils it. also front bumper got ripped off while removing from box.  And if you drive on the rear end even for a few seconds the rear will be in pieces as fully makes contact with the ground and it looks to be very brittle plastic.   Also a comment on the video said the good make servos were some fake brand.    For me even if the bumpers were good  the sound from the servos is a big turn off.

Wow... that sounds like utter junk!

Funny you should say that  because in the promotion video  someone goes to pick up the car by one end and just as the bumper is about to hit the ground the video cuts to something else.  lol

That sort of thing is so short-sighted. Their paying customers are going to notice, when their newly-bought products fall apart!

Its such a cool concept, the beginning of a long development curve. I see parallels  to the crawler category of RC. People get drawn in by the realism and engineer it further and further.

Reefs Rc have tricked one out with some of their servos, and a few people have started adding some scale parts and interiors etc, I imagine in America these will do well, the Lowrider scene is huge over there.
