    From Losi:
Combining the legendary TEN platform with the precision control of a Spektrum™ AVC® system, the Losi® TENACITY™-DB 4X4 Desert Buggy RTR is power personified. Add in incredible true to scale looks like roll cage, driver figures, and tires and you have a package unmatched by the competition. Inspired by proven race technology yet bred for straight bashing, this dynamic desert buggy offers performance unlike any other vehicle in its class. Designed to be tough and tunable thanks to its race-engineereed composite chassis with handling and impressive speeds of 50+ mph right out-of-the-box make this the ultimate buggy from the brand that represents the pinnacle of performance.

THE FULL-THROTTLE FREEDOM OF AVC® TECHNOLOGY

The receiver’s built-in AVC® (Active Vehicle Control) system works behind the scenes, making hundreds of throttle and steering adjustments per second, so more of the motor’s power is translated into ballistic speed and acceleration instead of just flying dirt. The patent-pending AVC system adds a level of performance that simply cannot be found with any vehicle from any manufacturer other than Horizon Hobby. Like traction control in your full-scale vehicle, you can activate or deactivate the system on the fly and adjust the level of stability based on driving conditions. Any R/C vehicle can go fast and with AVC you can go faster while maintaining optimum stability in all driving conditions.

    Legendary TEN Platform

The legendary, high-performance TEN platform features a super-tough composite chassis and the ability to adjust the TENACITY-DB’s suspension and drivetrain for any condition.

    Independent Front and Rear Suspension

The front and rear suspension provide amazing handling with a consistent feel and the ability to soak up bumps. It all adds up to a buggy that’s dialed in for maximized performance right out of the box.

    50+ MPH Dynamite Fuze 550 4-Pole 3800Kv Motor

The brushless ESC and motor provide wicked power with a 2 or 3 cell Li-Po (not included) that will blaze speeds of 50+ MPH on 3S power.

    Dynamite 130A Brushless ESC

The ESC is waterproof, completely programmable, and comes pre-wired with a high-current EC3 connector. It’s set up right out of the box to put the TENACITY-DB through its paces.

    4×4 Driveline with Adjustable Differentials

Full-time four-wheel drive provides increased traction and handling. The front, center and rear differentials can also be tuned for various conditions. Included with the TENACITY-DB is a center differential that allows the power to bleed to the front or rear and allows the vehicle to handle the roughest terrain.

Coil-Over Oil Filled Shocks with Pre-Load Adjustment

Adjustable oil filled coil-over shocks on all four corners soak up the gnarliest terrain. The 12mm shocks are fully-adjustable and allow you to tune the handling of the TENACITY-DB to maximize performance and dominate anywhere.

Composite Chassis with Bottom-Loading Battery Tray

The super-tough composite chassis lets you quickly and easily make battery changes without removing the body.

    Waterproof Electronics

All components are waterproof, so you can run the vehicle in the nastiest conditions imaginable. For details on waterproof standards, please refer to the product instruction manuals.

    Metric Hardware

Complete metric hardware is featured throughout the TENACITY-DB, including bearings, screws and nuts.

    Race-Inspired Body and Wing

The TENACITY-DB’s body is inspired by the full-size, racing desert buggies and its rear wing keeps it stable at wicked fast speeds.

    Scale Wheel and Tire Design

The TENACITY-DB comes with Maxxis Razr MT tires mounted on an aggressive 12-spoke wheel with faux beadlocks that are decorated to match the buggy’s scale body and looks.

Flip Top Roll Cage with LED Light Bar

Incredible scale looking flip top roll cage is hinged in the back to make it easier for drivers to get “under the hood.” The LED light bar adds to the scale detail making it so the fun doesn’t end even when the sun goes down.

Spektrum Waterproof Metal Gear Steering Servo

For added precision, the metal gear steering servo makes short work of tight turns. Drivers can crank it knowing the responsiveness is second to none.

    Spektrum FPV Mount

Included in the box but optional to install, the Spektrum FPV (First Person View) mount is designed specifically for the TENACITY-DB. Adding the FPV mount lets you easily install an all-in-one FPV system. When combined with the Spektrum heavy-duty FPV camera and a headset, you’re ready to experience a driving sensation more intense than any other vantage point can offer.

    SPEKTRUM™ DX2E ACTIVE™ RADIO SYSTEM

The Spektrum™ DX2e Active™ radio system offers advanced features like AVC control, a 3-position throttle limiting switch and travel adjust. It also has an expansion port that lets you add the Spektrum Speedometer or a Bluetooth module and phone mount to utilize the Spektrum Dashboard app.

    PERFORMANCE ADD-ONS

    SPEEDOMETER ADD-ON

Adding the optional Spektrum™ Speedometer allows you to instantly see your vehicle’s speed in real time (other items may be required). It also records top speed and features an easy-to read LED screen.

    SPEKTRUM DASHBOARD MOBILE APP

The Spektrum Dashboard Mobile application allows you to view everything from speed, motor or engine temperature, battery voltage and more (optional accessories required).

It's exactly what they did with the 8ight RTR.  Horizon using a brand name to launch something that may not otherwise sell if under the Vaterra or ECX line, or at least can't charge as much.

As Vas pointed out with the Big Rock, why bother with bottom loading battery doors, that're prone to failure, when you still need to remove the shell to connect the batteries? Pointless.

I'm not familiar with the Tenacity, is it legendary at all, or is that just the Losi view for advertising?

It is a let down. Losi is slipping.

I think all the major basher brands are taking us back afew years. Then they can easily fix these issues they made.

The traxxss rally 4x4 Xl5 is the biggest rip off. Sent back in time model. The v1 is literally 10x better but not cheaoer. The v3 could be slash based again and people will applaud them.

Axial and tekno mayb arrma they are trying hard to build for the hobbyist still.

Soon we'll see special fit lipos. Only by oem. Or china.  Traxxas has my bet on who first.

I agree on the Arrma point, they're pushing hard to make cars that're fun to drive, but can take some abuse. Look at the V1 e-Maxx or V1 ERBE, fun drives, but weak as kittens.

So just Losi hype-building, tragic really. The SBR is a great rig that fills a gap, now they need to release something to trounce the X-Maxx!

Kind of get the feeling that losi are starting to get a bit greedy and kind of turning into traxxas. Though to be fair to traxxas they do seem to be trying with some interesting models released recently, just a shame about their pricing. I think the only really interesting things Losi released in recent years is the 5ive and the rock Rey platforms (big and small).

Without getting too far off-topic, I think Traxxas are on the back-foot because of increasing competition that's producing better products. For "better" read; far more durable in terms of survivability and better overall engineering.

Both trucks I've had/ got with the bottom door have the door jam when used off rd. Why go the toy grade way? It takes 30 seconds to pull 4 R clips , get the body off & plug the battery in. Epic fail.  As the kids say.

All about profit this, make no mistake.  Works for Traxxas, and has presumably worked so far with Horizon they're just continuing the trend.

Had these been branded Vaterra (like they did with the mini8's) and priced accordingly i'd not mind.  Vaterra for entry, losi for hobbyist then TLR for the racer / enthusiast.

Looks a lot like the old axial exo buggy.......that was crap too

Traxxas = Rc equivalent to the anti-Christ.

A mate bought his kids a couple of ECX Roosts for christmas. Cheap and cheerful fun. Problem is the Losi doesnt actualy look any better. Losi's should at least look like they are ready to go out on track, that looks like a breakable basher.

It's the Ten/SCTE 2.0 platform but entirely plastic. It replaced the SCTE RTR.

Ummmm I was thinking of buying the ten scbe but with this coming out they will probably discontinue the scbe so it wouldn't be worth buying.

Why? The SCBE is based on the SCTE 2.0, which is still supported and it's compatible with most SCTE 3.0 parts. I'd probably suggest if you're after a scale looking buggy, to check out the Associated one based on their 8th scale platform. I think it's the DB8. That will have great support. It also looks pretty cool.

Do it.  It's one of only two Rc's i've regretted selling.  The associated Mond mentions is nice, but it's pricey to start with and decidedly RTR specced - maybe it doesn't need alloy pin holders etc but there pricey upgrades if it does.

I think they are near enough the same price and the SCBE has its budget points as well.

It does, and I'd not considered the current price of the Losi at £400  - which would make me think hard choosing new now.  The nomad is at least full fat 1/8 scale.

Thanks guys I didn't realise the scbe was based on the scte 2.0.I think I will deffinatley pick one up but I will have to wait about a month.Hopefully the scbe will still be available then.

BTW this https://www.modelsport.co.uk/index.php?product_id=422635&gclid=Cj0KCQjw2pXXBRD5ARIsAIYoEbf_N374meUyO3G2TQdRCGeuvGvp4AOh2UzVnJ1rQ-Dsm_gc3xqQFvUaAkniEALw_wcB is actually cheaper than the SCBE and has a much better spec. Completely metal shocks as apposed to plastic bodied, 8th scale power train, shares parts with the RC8 series of AE 8th scale cars. Probably easier to get spares in the long run if Horizon continue to shun UK distributors.
