  7. I've got nigh on 80 photos from the day which I need to sort through, no vids though sorry! Great day though; took 3 hours to get round the whole thing, loads of variety and plenty of 'free' areas to ry out if I had my sporty with me, alas the parts for the AR60's hadn't all arrived so went with the two scalers first off, then Capra and Wraith. Real eye opener on the Capra going second and breezing some of the difficult sections. However, also too many hangups with her. Probably poor line choice mostly, and cockiness on my part as it was steaming through most of the obstacles. Some real nice rigs up there, a real labour of love for lots of the drivers but I was well chuffed by how capable our scalers were. Comparing against other rigs we did extremely well and only had a handful of winch situations whereas I could see other rigs perma on their winches! Now want to get up into our local woods with a spade and rake! Can't be that difficult to make something up; especially after 12 months of building downhill trails with all the berms and jumps that entails! Pics soon, promise:)

  9. The bleach worked a treat. So, after some white primer, I coated them in matt black. On to the body. This is Tamiya's Bright Gun Metal. It didn't come out as dark as I was hoping for, but still looks ok. I masked off the roll cage and grille to be painted silver. And, after several coats of silver. After all that was dry, I backed the whole body with black. I think it looks better when you can see the inside if the body is black. Then I masked up some parts of the rear to be painted black on the outside, so it's a little more 'matt' than if it was painted inside. Plus, I always find masking on the outside easier. I've always thought the rear of the Konghead body looks a little bare, so decided to add a NOS bottle from the Wild Willy figure parts tree. Body all dry and ready from some decals. I don't really like the look of the box art decals, so decided to do something a little different. And there it is, finished. Next up will hopefully be some running pics. Thanks for looking.

  13. Lipo killer, it drains full packs down to a variety of voltages from 3.0 to 4.0, selected via the set button. Perfect for storage of unused packs. Will also drain them to zero for safe disposal. Warning, it runs hot, almost too hot to hold.

  17. I guess for a lot it also can bring back more of the fun of tinkering and just seeing what will fit with the means you have, refreshing that it's not necessarily just bodging [emoji16] Experienced this recently, trying to find hpi parts for an e firestorm and trophy buggy are becoming harder with lots having the trophy diff internals on 'back order' etc Luckily managed to find them however old style e firestorm spur gears has always been fun and they do like to break... the last 3 I had used were ecx spurs I believe from a ruckus that just required the corresponding slipper pads to work fine This time however I struggled to even get those very easily/cheaply so looked around and found Helion spurs with a very similar internal diameter and actually a few more different teeth counts. So got hold of them for only 2.25 a piece and the embossing for slipper pad location is identical to the old hpi spurs, all that was required was taking the internal diameter up very slightly and they fit perfectly [emoji108] Sent from my VOG-L09 using Tapatalk
