  2. Started a mock up of a deck for the rear. Given up trying to get a set of cage sides. No one has them in a price range that's sensible. So going to make a deck to hold it together. Should be able to make one with out to much hassle.

  3. New shell on the Bugsta. Hpi dsx-2. Very pleased with how it's turned out for a first attempt. Still need to plaster board tape and shoe gloo the inside. Fits very well

  5. I would get Lipos from Hobbyking though. Very much tried and tested. I recently bought 6000mah 2s 50c for £19. I took my Bugsta out the other day, 50% hill climbing, 50% fast field driving with long grass. After 1h30mins I was down to 7.6v. Amazing...and a little confusing why others only get 30 minutes..?.

  6. Depends. I was happy paying those prices, especially where fibre glass lipo bags are concerned. I have read many reports of people being happy with cheap CF bags but others who complain about the fibres breaking down, stitching coming undone etc. I just have more piece of mind buying from Modelsport a decent bag. Similar for the charger. The Overlander is very good and I'm happy to pay a little more for it.

  7. No need to pay those prices though. 80w charger for £30 and £3 for a bag from turnigy/hobbyking

  9. Get this charger and this pouch and don't worry (assuming you don't go whacking it with a hammer). All the complicated stuff is taken care of by the charger and esc cut off. Store in the HPI pouch in a safe(ish) place and enjoy all the benefits that LiPo have to offer.

  12. Well it's all in. Got to say I'm very impressed with the quality. Even down to the packaging. Not sure what the tie up with Schumacher (UK) is but their branding is on everything. Just taken it for a blat outside the house and it's quick. Very quick. Or at least it is for me. As far as costs go I probably should have just bought an E-Firestorm Flux in the first place but at least I now have a spare ESC and motor for my two boys' cars. The Multi Function programming box is a nice piece of kit too. Just waiting for the T-Bone bumpers and wheelie bar before I wreck the back end.

  15. Brass is relatively expensive but easier to get (my LHS has a decent range at close to eBay prices too). You can also solder it like copper at much lower temperatures than steel. I'm using a cooks blowtorch. I've not tried bending it yet...

  16. Thanks. I buy it usually from an eBayer in the uk. But he doesn't have it for long but i have a saved search so when i pops up i buy a few lengths.

  18. There's a lot of scaremongering out there regarding lipo's. Lipo's aren't much more unsafe than nimh's. Remember any battery can catch fire if treated incorrectly, just do your research on how to charge them etc.

  19. Have a read of the Lipo guide on here. They're pretty safe. I beat the crap out of my trucks,I've never had one go poof. Hobbykings' the place to go for lipos. Good quality low prices. Hardcase ain't much more expensive than softies. Hobbyking also do balancer/chargers at a good price too.

  20. Not my scene but massive thumbs up to Carisma for this. No doubt individuals have done similar but for a manufacturer this is a real plus for me - letting end users customise / print at home rather than trying to charge ££ for stuff.
