  1. I will leave this pic here for you guys, it's my version of 2wd and 4wd buggy heaven

  2. Cheers guys for the comments and people liking it , currently uploading pics to photobucket to post at some point together with a spec list as it's got a few lol. Tank wise, there's a clear strip marked in front so you can see fuel level, it's been sprayed with plasti dip on a new tank. It will peel after a while but tbh it's pretty robust and had surprised me at how long it's lasting. the conversion is straight forward, a few pieces I used differently, NRP rear wing mount is a custom fitment to modified tower but better aesthetics imo. I finished it last Thursday and it went racing in the brca round at bhbf. Been a long time since I raced anything but I do love racing I did 2 out of the 3 qualifiers, last qualifier I missed because I lost track of time when a few people were discussing RC with me. Anyway I made B final grid position 3 with one other losi buggy in front of me in the a final. I was going fine until i recieved a big shunt on air filter side and my carb bolt became loose and then engine died due to carb bolt letting go. Not to shabby on its 1st outing The elcon body I rate highly as when that shunt took place it put a crease in my shell which pushed out and it's fine no cracks, rather impressed tbh, thought it was a write off. I have a cab forward mcd shell here and that will eventually makes it way onto my race buggy. If not tonight, tomorrow I will put a load of pics up for you guys and spec list.

  3. Fitted these to my baja, and there very nice to fit and also the best bit for me is how firm the rear of my beasty, there was loads of play slop on the rear, after fitting team chase shock towers, and the hostile rear hubs its tightened it up its lovely, its getting more how I want it day by day, love'n it!

  15. Electrics wise I have used a hitec 1000 coupled to a team hoonage dual servo saver mount and titanium turnbuckles, Xpert RC WR 6601 waterproof brushless servo. Its on a carbon mount for strength and I have used longer screws to mount the radio tray in. All wiring is tucked away as usual, all in black heat shrink to protect it, no braid keeping it minimal. Futaba fasst rx used and its hooked up to my 4px. Killswitch is plumbed in I always run with one its not necessary for brca tracks, killer rc 14.8v lipo. Plumbed the switch into its original position. I always tuck my wiring away, protect it, route it properly. This means I can remove my radio tray completely without worrying about wires or any getting snagged etc Makes pit side maintenance a lot easier and also when cleaning your rc. I did place the transponder on underside of carbon

  17. Broke it... Probably the most I've ever broken on a savage. http://www.msuk-forum.co.uk/gallery/image/33304-image/ http://www.msuk-forum.co.uk/gallery/image/33305-image/ A-arm ripped off Turnbuckle bent Upright broken Wheel destroyed actually not that bad for a 50mph+ crash into a pole!

  18. Evening chaps I saw the losi buggy last year and since I had a change of plan with another rc, I didn't have a race rig until now. I just loved the losi buggy, its stance, easier to lug around compared to a 5t etc and its a platform I know so made sense. Since its my race rig, it has no lights or extra frills as such compared to my other 5th scales, just parts i wanted on it for strength and better aesthetics imo. The modified centre diff is going to make way for a flm one as its lighter plus I am going to try to mount a carbon top plate on it and get a carbon diff to engine brace. I also will revert back to standard hubs to further lose some lbs. My good friend Mark Sumner did the airbrushing as always, epic work as always. It was always going to be blue, tricked out shell as batman is my race colour theme on all my race rigs in all scales. So if you ever see a nice batman shell trackside more than likely going to be me The buggy in the pics is exactly how it went into the brca with mcd wheels and Darren Worth the chairman was most welcoming and happy to help with questions etc Great experience as I did the freeprawn super cup a few years ago and would highly recommend people to experience racing their cars although I do love to kick back with friends on a summers evening just running them, lights on and everything lol Spec list is endless tbh, its all blue including ball ends, any alloy parts, billet head, clutch the whole nine yards. Pics show it on some begitec wheels that i put on for pics.

  20. I wonder if KM make a alloy servo bracket?
    1 point
  21. yeah i had a few issues with the steering servo twisting the plastic and the rx box. I'm all alloy now and no more issues.

  22. personally I cut the body out first as you are less likely to damage the paint when trimming the shell.

  23. I ran the hpi stock set up for a while, I snapped a bit and brought the dark soul and threshold bits and a couple of bashes later another bit snapped on it. so i upgraded to the tr set up. ive been running a tr steering set up for a few months now, I like it alot. alot better lock. Alot of people have issues with the springs snapping but I read somewhere they have changed there spring material on the new ones.

  24. in my opinion it's just over-complicating something. I can get a good few hours of use out of my lipo, more than enough to burn through a few tanks of fuel. If you want long run times just fit the killer rc lipo for the baja.

  25. Life packs are ok with savox its lipo power most can't take unless the 1258tg ones are high voltage in which case that's the problem they might need 7.4v to work I'll check on MS It doesn't say so I'd presume it's a standard 6v servo so life packs are ok

  28. My first nitro was a 3.3 Revo. Used to live next to a 'grassy knoll'. Latterly I didn't fire up until after 10:30 AM. and not after 19:00 - unless the lawnmowers started, then stuff 'em ... !! Thing is, when first breaking in the TRX 3.3 I got a bit enthusiastic - you know the score with static, light throttle figures of 8, occasional half throttle, .... until its time to 'tune it'! This obviously means maxing it and listening for the highest smooth-sounding revs - with the 'spit test' for the head of course! (Didn't have a thermometer then.) Trying to max it, at 09:00, a neighbour came out with 'mate, can you PLEASE pack it in, I've been on nights ....' Point is, it is a fun hobby, but we've got to think of others - hence why I changed to my earliest start at 10:30 / lawnmower ruling. Al.

  31. I had exactly the same issue as you with km alloy hubs, 2 mins light sanding in a circular motion, checking fitment every 10 seconds, problem solved. I hear what you're saying though, nothing worse with being over exuberant with a Sanders and wrecking your part beyond repair.

  38. Hi Hpi vorza diffs will drop straight in. I have them on mine and they have been fine on 4s, 5s and 6s. If you cant find vorza diffs look for trophy buggy/truggy diffs or even the hot bodies d8 and d8t. They are all the same diff but used in various vehicles. If using the trophy diffs you may want to upgrade the internal gears to the hardened versions. Rik

  39. Not watched video but I use these with all my savox servos http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=web&id=371319930818 helps keep them glitch free but have found 6.6v life packs work better with the bigger savox servos

  41. I'm not well up on petrol models, but I like the idea, but not the thought of extra weight and wiring, surely just sticking on charge at home is the easiest option? Or get a 2nd hump pack of needs be? Sent from my iPad Air using Tapatalk

  43. I finished assembling my B5m Lite. That's as much as I can do just now, I still need: wheels, tyres, inserts & an esc but they'll have to wait just now. A servo is on the way. I don't plan on racing this until later in the season so in no major rush to get it running. I just wanted to fully assemble it so I knew there was no parts missing or any issues. Only issue I came across was the rear arms where stamped incorrectly, the left was stamped right and the right was stamped left. All tolerances felt really good when assembling it compared my previous regular B5M which had slop in a couple areas.

  44. Diff oils come down to personal preference and driving style, racers will use different to bashers as you can complety change the handling characteristics. Buggies will differ slightly to truggys as well due to weight difference, I run a buggy flux and I have 7k front, 10k center, 5k rear in mine and the fronts don't balloon like they used to with the std grease and it's quite tail happy with 5k in the rear, it will lift the front up and wheelie, but not like a savage does. I think other opinions would be quite similar, but possibly 100k in the center with it being a truggy. I'm sure someone with a truggy and knowledge will be along soon :-D

  45. Mix up some Weetabix and milk. Spread it on where you want the mounts, place the mounts in position and leave for 48 hours. The shell will fall apart before the mounts come loose

  46. Engine and exhaust pipe re installed after removing to put resin on all the drilled holes to stop the water getting into the wood, Radio box has been fitted, installed the switchblade kill switch, killer rc receiver battery, futaba t-fhss receiver, pushrods have been cut and clevis fitted, servos just need setting up now and just waiting on fuel bag mount and carb needle clamps then should be about ready to run.
