I've run my Savage with them in the past, here it is with a Slash shell: And here it is with a Blitz shell: They did require a lot of trimming to clear the wheels. I love the look, but they are a pain when jumping due to parachuting.2 points

Took it to NDOR and had a great day as usual. My buggy ran very well and the bacon cobs were ace.2 points

I had my savage out earlier and left it to dry out on a tarpaulin, then happened to plonk my Slash on top of it. I then noticed it actually looks quite good with a short course body on it so I tried it in place proper. Looks like it would fit ok with maybe a bit of trimming around the wheel arches. I was then thinking I might get a HPI Blitz body perhaps. Just wondered if anyone else out there running short course body on a monster truck? Please post photos up if possible.1 point

Looks great. How a SCT should look - but I am biased! As mentioned, take care with the arches - steering will probably snag the body. Great look. Closest I have is this: http://www.msuk-forum.co.uk/gallery/image/30934-garage-20141121-05/ It was meant to be that way 'though, and the body's narrower than that Dodge Ram. Al.1 point

A.J has hit the nail on the head, ive only ever battled with tamiya tanks, you have to be a pretty acurate shot, as somebody else shoots your tank you can hear the incoming shell but therses nothing you can do as it happens so quickly, loud explosion occours, depending on where your hit certain parts of your tank become dissabled, the noise changes, your engine will start to splutter and miss fire, theres a whole host of things, as aj said reload times, it makes the whole experaince much better and you need a strategy as such, not just fire fire fire and hope for the best i dont go anymore sadly but it was really good fun, tamiya is the only IR system worth battling with, all the rest are just hassle, IR beam bouncing off walls etc.1 point

There is a lot more to the Tamiya battle set up, reload times (longer for heavy tanks etc) , recovery times, the more hits you take the slower the tank gets and finally after the a set about of hits depending on class of tanks to die lol1 point

Mafia got hold of it and sold it to Saudi!! It was a 'pride and joy' but Yoo / Voo's able to do one thing I can't - move on!! Don't know how you did that James!! Al.1 point

This is one of the most entertaining threads in a while. Stories are crazy, but most definitely true. I thought my 'runaway' with the E-Maxx then on 4S with tyre marks halfway up the wall was bad enough. We can all understand. Locked in a cage with a wild tiger - you should write books mate!! not a big deal for most people, unless running on fairly rough ground. the fan cover doesn't last long when you get to jumping it though as the hpi design basically make the can cover part of the chassis bracing, cast covers like stock break, alloy one fair better but they tend to bend after awhile fancover brace is a must imo true to a point, but it not a great idea to seal it completely as it is an air intake for the fan to cool the engine down, you can take the shroud of the engine off without it being a big effect on cooling, it just can't sit around on idle for very long as it over heats due to no air flow best option with metal parts and bearing is to cool the bearing down in a fridge or something, makes fitting them easier. you can also heat up the metal part but i'd avoid doing both as the rapid heat change from the 2 coming into contact can deform the outer ring of the bearng slightly, some thing i once done on a clutch bearing.1 point

Matt has been running his micro for ages rich, he is in the lead by about a million points by now lol,1 point

I took the win in the first micro A final.... Therefore I believe I'm winning micro championship? If anybody in the area wants to try racing @ South West Indoor RC, but is on the fence about investing in a 10th buggy, I have a "Vintage" buggy setup for the track and ready to race, that you can use as a loan car for the evening1 point

Going really good thanks, Ill post some pictures later of the new layout. Psstt.... Still sitting 1st overall;) Psstt...1 point

Link to South West Indoor RC Facebook Page The club is going really strong, since the start in the summer its had some layout changes to keep things fresh, the current one is massive fun, flows really well with a big wall-ride and nice jumps This week it had its first proper micro heat - with a mixture of Carisma GTB's and a Losi Mini 8. Hopefully that will be a class ran every week, alongside 10th buggies, which are the main class and have the biggest numbers. There's also discussions about starting a short course class once a month.. There's also a mixed Juniors/Vintage class ran every week, so everyone has a chance of winning. The club is every Thursday, 6:30PM track opens for practice, 7PM racing starts, there's directions & the location on the Facebook page, and the owner (Matt) is on here as well. There's handout timing transponders (no extra charge), tyres are sold at the track if you don't have any (Supplied by Nimrif RC), and always plenty of people to ask for help/advice1 point

Coming together well. Thought, could you knock up/buy some correct size hinges to replace the stickers above the stowage tray? Just think it will add a lot to the overall finish1 point
