  3. I have stuck to all mandatory speed limits as according to Highway Law...I have never driven or been in cars standard or otherwise modified on public highways to max 150ish mph or participated in other forms of street racing and generally messing about in a Fast & Furious type manner in my younger days....Mr Officer sir...honest PS Ride it, like ya stole it... On a more serious note....... I have lost 2 fiends and a work colleagues on bikes, and lost 1 friend in car accidents doing things they shouldn't on roads and several in bad accidents involving cars on roofs and places and positions they shouldn't be in including myself on more than one occation... One of my Ex's friends hit a hump back bridge too fast a piled in to a queue of cars waiting at temp traffic lights, she lost three friends that day and she (the driver) was severely injured along with injuries in three other cars she came down on too.... You always think I wouldn't be you......but it not you, but the others involved... Thankfully I have grown up since and tend to be a more considerate driver....one time I would have classed its as fun but nowadays but some harsh lessons have shown me otherwise. If my kids get in car with someone like I was I would take that persons head off their shoulders. All I can say is keep it on the track...not on the roads..

  4. "Dry" (non-rechargeable) batteries do not hold their voltage under load - and this affects them more as they become discharged. New, they would typically read about 1.55v per cell without load, but at anything around 1.5v or less without load, they are effectively flat - certainly for reliable rc use, particularly with high torque servos - as the voltage will drop greatly with load, when you would have nothing like 6.0v from 4 cells. NiCad/NiMh which are usually used in hump packs, on the other hand have a very "flat" discharge curve, maintaining a nominal 1.2v per cell (bear in mind there are 5 cells, not 4, in a hump pack, giving a constant nominal 6.0v) until almost fully discharged Whilst I do use "dry" cells in some of my transmitters, I wouldn't dream of using them for receivers/servos. They would be unusable in minutes with 17kg servos in 1/8th scale buggies and trucks. If you have suicidal tendencies, just try dry cells in a 1/5th scale!

  5. Is this thing still around? Update of any kind? It's a shame Castle gave up on the 12s ESC, that would've been awesome in any car!

  18. Using AA's in your TX is okay (although Lipo FTW ) However using them to run your servos is not going to save you from a runaway. It's not so much the batteries themselves but the holder - AA's have a tendency pop out on heavy landings - in which case I hope you're wearing your running shoes! Hump packs all day long for me.

  22. Let's be honest, We in this hobby have always paid more than we should for stuff, An RC firm comes along with a bit of bent aluminium, Put's a sticker of there logo on the side, Calls it a Buggy stand, And charges 50 quid for the privilege, And everyone says it's such a great product. What I'm saying is, You could hold on and find out if this is going to cost 50,60,70 or a 100 quid cos it has a TrakPower sticker on the side, Or you could just buy this From Farnell for

  26. Latest video- For some reason the car doesn't seem as quick at it was the other day. It is still fast regardless but I think the setup is stressing the batteries at this point. I only have a 35c and a 40c 3s pack at my disposal so I'd like to get my hands on a 60c+ pack to see if it makes a difference. That probably won't happen before winter though.
