Well a rather productive day for me, got lots more stuff painted (yesterday and today) managed to mount all my LEDs on the 8x8 and actually got them working. May not sound much to some people but to someone like me who isn't usually interested in LEDs and doesn't understand control boards and all that stuff, I feel quite proud1 point

Well I don't know if this is a good thing or bad ;-), talking to my other half about getting the size of our garden as low maintenance as possible she said why don't you build the tank and crawler track to nearly the top of the garden put weed suppressor down and build on top of that !.well I paced it out and it's big but how am I going to fill that space !!!.here is the pics of how much I have to play with Now the hard work of planning what to do !!!1 point

For my lad when he started rc I drilled a tiny hole behind the trigger and inserted a small screw which is obviously adjustable and works great, this is assuming you don't have EPA1 point

What fuel are you using? I would not imagine anything inside the engine is warped, if it still has compression then it should work. I expect there is a carb. blockage or problem....or a fuel supply problem.1 point

I'm running my mad monkey with a 10,5 t brushless setup and no gears have stripped yet. Admitted i don't runt it that much but still it has not stripped yet. I had most of my problems with the shocks and they are now replaced. For a 2wd 501 point

Ok i've just bought a Losi mini 8 to get the ball rolling. All ive got to do with this is fit my receiver. Its got a few hop ups etc etc. I've also bought a KF for the 2wd buggy class but i need to sort the electrics for this. None of my 8th scale stuff fits :( I'm bidding on something vintage but i missed a perfect re re Gold Tub the other day So i will have 2 cars for next week, nothing for tonight but 1 will be fully running come next Thursday1 point

just a thought,. if it's from alibaba stay away. Otherwise research your initial seller extensively. You could always chop em up and make your money that way which will be an easy work around to warrenty claims albeit at the expense of your time listing everything.1 point

I've got a separate end point adjuster unit that just fits in between the servo lead and the receiver that I have no use for. PM me with your address and I'll pop it in the post. John1 point

There might be somewhere where there's a few little rheostats you can adjust with a small screwdriver - like the old Losi controllers. Never know. Al.1 point

Easiest way of restricting the speed is reducing the EPA (End point Adjustment) or travel of the throttle input. You should be able to do this on the majority of Transmitters Where normally It would be 100% you can change it to say 50% so the transmitters full throttle input by the user is only transfered as 50% to the RC car goh...... Vr5fx beat me to it lmao1 point
-
You can modify the EPA (end point adjustment) on the transmitter, this sets the maximum throttle and/or reverse, if you can't find it, stick some folded card under the trigger (using tape), easily removed and adjusted to requirements.1 point

You're not kidding, but they've got the look. I used carbon fibre tube with threaded rod to make my steering linkages. The stock rod for the linkages may work but look just a bit anaemic. John1 point

.... and the proof .... http://www.msuk-forum.co.uk/gallery/image/27871-/ http://www.msuk-forum.co.uk/gallery/image/27874-/ http://www.msuk-forum.co.uk/gallery/image/27877-/ http://www.msuk-forum.co.uk/gallery/image/27875-/ I've used different rods, and RC4WD rod ends - took a bit of manipulating - but they fit perfectly and from maximum height to full compression, the tie rods never touch the links. Mission accomplished thanks to 'saviown'. After a quick test run on my local test track, also known as 'the street' My initial impressions are- 1, it's way too big 2, it's way too heavy 3, it doesn't handle that well 4,not that quick. Over all. I flippin love it!!!! Thanks for the input guys.1 point

You aint gonna being doing a lot if you keep stock tx as its an all in one receiver and speed controller (esc)! If you are gonna go brushless then it will need: Motor, esc http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=20995 receiver and transmitter: http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__31671__HobbyKing_HK_GT2B_3CH_2_4GHz_Transmitter_and_Receiver_w_Rechargable_Li_ion_Battery.html batteries: http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=29023 and charger http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__7028__Turnigy_Accucel_6_50W_6A_Balancer_Charger_w_accessories.html A servo, servo mount, motor pinion etcetc Its not an easy changeover. But if your gonna go for it, its worth it!!! and if you push it too hard your gonna need, diffs, dogbones and centre axle. Suspension wise you need I tried the 3 racing ones but they leak! Ive just got some from hobbyking ready to test: http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=198701 point
