  1. That's already happened....and that's why the postage has gone up. Here's the deal... Government deregulates the post, and allows 'fair' competition from the likes of DHL etc. They then immediately undercut RM for the business mail to large cities, as thats where the drop density is high and they have existing delivery networks they can subcontract. Meanwhile...RM is still bound by the 'Universal Service Obligation' agreement. This means you can post a letter to anywhere in the UK for a flat rate. Think about it....how can you make money sending post to the extremes of Cornwall, the Scottish Highlands and Islands and so forth....when you can charge no more for that than a delivery from one end of London to the other. Clearly you can't...and RM subsidised this by diverting the profits made on the 'profitable' traffic to cover the unprofitable. I mean...one person decides to send a birthday card to a relative on the Isles of Scilly....and you have to deliver it ...lots of cost for that letter. Now RM loses a lot of the profitable high density mail traffic...and they still have to deal with the horrid stuff. Oh yes....and if you ask DHL to post your letter to the aforementioned remote destinations....they sub it out to Royal Mail for the final delivery cos tehy know RM have to go there anyway even if it bankrupts them doing it. Even now, with increased postal charges, it barely covers what it actually costs unless you live in a big city. Costs for trunking ( those lovely big lorries guzzling diesel ) are through the roof and nothing ever gets any cheaper. And the worst bit is....you don't have any options......cos small packet traffic is something none of the parcel carriers want to touch becuase you can;t charge enough to make it commercially viable. Happy days.....

  21. not really, your better off using the money to buy an alloy prop shaft and race bearings as these make a way better difference than what the tt01e has

  24. as said above, blocking the exhaust will force extra pressure both back into the engine [its this pressure on the piston that stops the engine] as well as into the tank forcing extra fuel in, the big no no is to just squeeze the fuel line.

  26. my mate rik answered back " Hi Chris, it's a K4.6. I've changed all the port timing and the crank timing. Added 2 more exhaust ports and modded the crank case to suit. Modded the piston. Can't think of anything else at the mo. I've got a load of other things I wanted to do to it but it goes so well I didn't wanna take it apart. It's an rtr motor so it won't have the lifespan of an after market one so I'm just enjoying it as it is. Ive done some of those mods to someone's motor but sent it to him before I got the chance to thrash it and he's taking his time to break it in and do some vids for me. I'm gonna do those other mods plus more to another motor - one of my picco's got taken out last night to be done. If what I want to do works that one is going to be ridiculous! Lol! "

  31. Most people use home made bits ie the motor mount as AFAIK there isn't a conversion kit for it. The people who've converted them already have the firestorm and for whatever want to convert it, wouldn't it be easier if you just bought the e-firestorm?
    1 point
  32. because there is a realy cheap one on a website and i was going to get an e firestorm. also does anyone no where i can get a kit to convert it?
    1 point
  33. by the way if it is a relitivly easy task i shall be getting a firestorm and converting it, so keep watching the thread!

  35. There are various 'grades' of 1/5 cars, and in the main, you tend to get what you pay for. Now...at this point, you usually get a raft of people extolling the virtues of their cars and going on about elitism, brand loyalty etc. but there are factors you need to consider before you lay down your hard earned cash. 1) Resale. A better brand will hold more residual value, and be easier to sell if you decide it's not for you. A cheap car with a questionable reliabilty record or poor spares backup will get you nothing should you sell. A factor you need to bear in mind 2) Spares. Buying a car from FG, HPI etc. pretty much guarantees you a good spares supply and plentiful E-Bay options for used bits or hop ups. Buying a 'clone' is one thing...but make sure it is one that is properly compatable with available spares and improvement parts, as if you decide to keep it longer term, good after market backup means you will still be enjoying your truck for years to come. Also has a major impact on it's desirability should you want to sell it on. So ...that said...your first port of call has to be the cashpoint machine. How much you got to spend here. If your budget really only extends to
