Indoor drone/F22 Jet - Toy-grade to hobby grade?

I have one of those indoor F22 jets that is powered by a drone. Had it for years and I still use it! I just want to use a hobby grade transmitter for better precision control. I could swap the drone out, but the configuration of the drone is different to all other drones, as you can see in the picture. Any ideas?

depends on the receiver on there brother could maybe mod a micro one that would work with a larger TX etc on most flight controller software you can change the layout ie x ,deadcat layouts.

yeah the blade 350qx was a cool quad that safe mode meant wherever you faced taking off was the orientation made it alot easier to fly 👍

After looking around I found a 4-in-1 controller board (racerstar rs20ax4) that works in + orientation. What about gyro stabilization though for indoor flight?

Arnt the gyros already built into the board ?

No, I would need a flight controller for that. Looks like the KISS FC V2 controller is right for the job. Not really expensive so far given both boards cost around £30 each.  A receiver won't be that much either. And Tiny Whoop brushless motors. Not as straight forward as I hoped though lol

Unfortunately it never is mate 😕

Eachine make a Mini F22 Raptor prop yet that I could convert to a drone using the standard X configuration drones. That should make it more straight forward and give me more drone options.
