  1. Eachine make a Mini F22 Raptor prop yet that I could convert to a drone using the standard X configuration drones. That should make it more straight forward and give me more drone options.
  2. No, I would need a flight controller for that. Looks like the KISS FC V2 controller is right for the job. Not really expensive so far given both boards cost around £30 each. A receiver won't be that much either. And Tiny Whoop brushless motors. Not as straight forward as I hoped though lol
  3. After looking around I found a 4-in-1 controller board (racerstar rs20ax4) that works in + orientation. What about gyro stabilization though for indoor flight?
  4. I have one of those indoor F22 jets that is powered by a drone. Had it for years and I still use it! I just want to use a hobby grade transmitter for better precision control. I could swap the drone out, but the configuration of the drone is different to all other drones, as you can see in the picture. Any ideas?
  5. There is a business in the US where you send them your plastic gears and they replicate them in a metal of your choice: https://gearsmade.com/ That's an awesome service if you can't find off the shelf metal gear replacements for your car, tank or truck, etc. Anyone know if there is such a service in the UK? I want to replace my 1/24 Vstank plastic gears with brass ones now that it has metal tracks and drive sprockets.
  6. Interior and body coming along nicely. Made a front grill where I will install 2 halo lights. Will look nice when it's chromed. Also found a smaller supercharger for 1/8 scale.
  7. You would hope so given it's from a £1200 shelby cobra kit! Not a kit I would buy, but the parts can be found on e bay.
  8. I had the same problem and used thread-lock to solve it. Just be careful when applying it so you don't lock the whole thing up.
  9. Seen this on ebay, would make a cool large RC project. Looks 1/6 but not too sure. Would get it myself but already working on a 1/8 project. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/154541955224
  10. Finished extending the pipes and now starting work on the interior.
  11. Got the side pipes from a shelby cobra. Have to extend them for the corvette.
  12. I've been out of the crawling scene for several years, so I don't know what new rigs are unsing worm drives. A worm drive is more suited for crawling and has several advantages over standard gearing.
  13. Yes, less prone than a top heavy rig. If you work on reducing the weight above the axles/chassis, then that's a good start. Softer tyres and softer shocks with less travel on the rear shocks, will also help reduce tipping.
  14. I'm thinking it would be prone to tipping over unless all the weight is in the wheels
  15. To my delight, everything is lining up and fits like it was meant to be. I'm going with cream leather for the interior and maybe metallic blue for the body. Also need some of those chrome pens for detailing. The wide body is looking good mounted on the chassis, it's just screaming to be completed!
  16. Yes, true about the motor! but for my needs and setup, it's more than enough. Deffo outperforms any 540 brushed motor I've had. Was surprised given I'm new to brushless... P.S I was planning on restoring my Turbo Rocky and have many unused parts that I've collected over the years! Only using the used/worn parts for the build and replacing the bearings, etc, so everything is tight and proper. I'm not even using the original gold drive shafts to preserve them.
  17. Standard Kyosho Rocky gearing and 15t pinion gear, plus it's RWD only setup.
  18. I can't test it fully because my car is not built yet. However, I've only seen these esc smoke when you start going over 2s lipo.
  19. Those brushless ESC fans are fast and noisy! Also it's a tight build i'm working on and don't have much room for the fan. This is the ESC & motor combo: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07YDNVX9L/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I'm using a 7.2v NiMH pack. Does the ESC really need a fan? or such powerful fan?
  20. My first time experience using a brushless motor today. I had the chassis on the work top, raised so the tyres have about 2 inch clearence and then give it some throttle. Boy was I impressed with power and I'm only using a 7.2v NiMH pack. Startred to smell burning rubber and thought it must be the speed controller. Moved the car and seen burnt rubber on my work top, was confused. I'm stood over the car so I didn't see the tyres ballooning lol Never seen this with a brusshed motor. I don't plan on using a Lipo battery for my car due to risk of fire, etc. Don't want the battery to destroy all my work!
  21. You can use a smart phone to mount on your car and stream live video back to your viewing device. There are apps for this purpose. You will have some lag but it can be minimized depending on setup, etc. I've done this with my rc tank and got the lag down to where it was good, but it's a tank and slow, so a little lag is not a big deal. Mini IP comeras could also be an option. If your truck is top heavy, you can reduce ride height and use wheel weights.
  22. Mounted the shocks. Trying to keep everything low-profile and compact as to not compromise the interior too much. So far, so good!
  23. Mom want's me to replace her slow Amazon Fire-7 tablet, so I'm happy to see this thread for some suggestions.
  24. The chassis is starting to come together. Using a chassis plate from a 1/8 Thunder Tiger buggy for good fit. Need to make some suspension mounts for the road shocks and a mount for the steering servo.
