Best engine for sub £120 ?

Hi all, my car is needing new piston, and my local hobby shop quoted me £80 to do it, I was just wondering is it worth buying anew engine (is possible) or getting the GX-21 fixed ?

You could just get a force .21. They are cheap enough and should work fine.

Not  sure never had either. I wouldn't think either of them are anything amazing. They are both fairly cheap rtr engines. For the price you might be able to get a used race engine, but its always a risk. You also need a starter box as well

Something like this would be a nice upgrade if you can find another one.

IMO much better than the GX 21 .

Is  the Kyosho  engine bolted to the chassis on yours ? If so you’ll need engine mounts as well 👍

I've replaced my old and worn engines with SH21 and SH28 and Force 21 which I believe is SH rebranded, certainly has same block mouldings and internals. Yes they are cheap and not race spec but for my needs they're great. Tune easy and start easy. Look after them and they'll last 👍
